After more than ten years on the CS scene, numerous victories, and appearances at the world\u2019s most prestigious tournaments, autimatic has decided to start a new chapter in his life. This was reported by dust2.us.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>autimatic\u2019s achievements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Timothy \u201cautimatic\u201d Ta is an American esports player who began his CS career in 2012. Throughout his career, he played for many teams but achieved his greatest success with Cloud9. His most notable achievements include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"article-list-pink\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"article-list-pink__item\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ESL Pro League Season 4 \u2013 Finals<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"article-list-pink__item\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Americas Minor Championship \u2013 Krak\u00f3w 2017<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"article-list-pink__item\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esports Championship Series Season 3 \u2013 Finals (3rd\u20134th place)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"article-list-pink__item\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DreamHack Open Denver 2017<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"article-list-pink__item\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">iBUYPOWER Masters 2017<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"article-list-pink__item\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"article-list-pink__item\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His performance at ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018 was particularly iconic, where Cloud9 became the first North American team to win a CS:GO Major. autimatic was one of the key players in that lineup, delivering consistent performances and crucial clutches in decisive moments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2018, autimatic was also ranked among the top 20 players in the world by HLTV.org, reaching the 17th spot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was always known for his high game sense, discipline, and versatility \u2014 being able to perform various roles, from rifler to AWPer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2021, autimatic briefly switched to Valorant, playing for T1, but returned to CS a year later by joining Evil Geniuses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Between 2023 and 2024, autimatic played for Evil Geniuses and NRG, remaining with NRG until November 2024 before being benched. While playing for these teams, autimatic and his squads did not achieve significant results, which likely influenced his decision to try his hand at a different sport. Over his career, he earned over $450,000 in prize money.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>From Counter-Strike to golf: the new path of autimatic<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">autimatic has stopped competing in CS2 to dedicate himself to golf \u2014 a new passion he actively documents by posting daily videos on Instagram and TikTok. He has already uploaded 22 videos in a series titled \u201cDay X of quitting my job to play golf.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his 16th video, Timothy explained the reasons for his transition:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI signed my first pro contract 10 years ago and competed in tournaments all around the world. I was lucky enough to win a few as well. This was my dream job that I worked 20 years of my life towards. So why quit? I just burned out.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also added:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI like running \u2014 I stopped doing it. I like climbing \u2014 I stopped doing it. But golf felt different. Even though I\u2019m new to golf, it feels like a game I\u2019ve played before.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the unexpected transition, autimatic announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he still plans to post CS-related content on YouTube. He has been inactive in professional CS2 since November 2024 and officially announced a break from competition in February 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>autimatic sees parallels between golf and Counter-Strike<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So far, there have been no public comments from famous players or esports personalities regarding Timothy \u201cautimatic\u201d Ta\u2019s decision to leave the professional Counter-Strike scene for golf. He continues to share his new journey in golf through social media, posting daily updates about his progress and experiences.
