Ahead of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, one of North America\u2019s most influential players, Peter \u201cstanislaw\u201d Jarguz, shared his thoughts on the state of the NA scene, the development of Wildcard, and the new generation of players. In a candid interview with BLAST, the veteran spoke openly about the challenges his team has faced throughout the year, his personal motivation, and the role experience plays in modern CS2.<\/p>\n

Key Comments from Stanislaw<\/h2>\n

On Wildcard\u2019s current form and their 2025 performances:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe year started off a lot better than it currently is. We won the online Frost & Fire tournament and I felt like we were progressing well. But at our two most important events \u2014 Katowice and Bucharest \u2014 we came really close to reaching our goals, but lost by just a few rounds. If those rounds had gone our way, I wouldn\u2019t be feeling the way I do now.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

Stanislaw admits the year began with promise \u2014 capped by a win at Frost & Fire. However, Wildcard\u2019s performances at premier events like Katowice and Bucharest exposed some team weaknesses: they were just a few rounds away from playoffs but failed to close things out. These losses, while painful, served as valuable lessons.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On NA scene struggles and life in Europe:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve spent more time in Europe, so we\u2019ve just had to adapt to the current CS landscape. The scene is mainly based in Europe, so the three of us from NA are living most of the time at our headquarters in Poland.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

According to Wildcard\u2019s IGL, North American players must come to terms with reality: success requires living and practicing in Europe. Stanislaw acknowledges the emotional and physical toll this brings, but insists it\u2019s the only way to survive in modern professional CS.<\/p>\n

On the new generation of players:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe it\u2019s the TikTok generation, but I feel like the new generation has a harder time learning. Their attention span is shorter. Back in the day, we could spend hours on theory \u2014 now you have to break everything down into segments.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

He bluntly states that today\u2019s young players are less attentive, struggle to absorb information, and have shorter attention spans. In the past, players would sit through long theory sessions \u2014 now, everything has to be simplified, like TikTok clips. The real issue isn\u2019t mechanics, he says, but mentality.<\/p>\n

On memories and expectations for the home Major:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always loved playing in front of the home crowd. One of my favorite memories is ESL New York, when we beat Astralis with EG. The atmosphere was incredible. I want to feel that again. But first we need to make playoffs.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

Stanislaw fondly recalls beating Astralis at ESL New York and hopes to recreate those emotions in Austin in front of a home crowd. But he knows the team must earn their spot in the playoffs first.<\/p>\n

Constructive Criticism Without Despair: How Stanislaw Sees NA\u2019s Future<\/h2>\n

This is one of the most honest interviews we\u2019ve seen from a player who has witnessed both the rise and fall of the NA scene. Stanislaw doesn\u2019t sugarcoat anything \u2014 he speaks openly about burnout, instability, generational issues, and even poor decisions, like the short stint with Stewie2k. Yet, he never loses hope.<\/p>\n

His views are balanced: he understands the value of experience, but doesn\u2019t shy away from holding young players accountable. Interestingly, even when being critical, he doesn\u2019t come off as pessimistic \u2014 rather, as a mentor who wants change.<\/p>\n

Austin Major: A Chance and a Mirror<\/h2>\n

Stanislaw is a voice of reason in today\u2019s North American CS scene. His experience, honesty, and understanding of the meta make him a key figure in shaping the region\u2019s future. If the younger players are truly willing to listen, there\u2019s still hope. But today, it\u2019s not just about talent \u2014 it\u2019s about being willing to learn, to sacrifice, and to adapt to a new reality. The Austin Major may be a golden opportunity for Wildcard \u2014 and a reflection of the NA scene as a whole.<\/p>\n
