But for one lucky winner, it wasn\u2019t just about getting it right \u2014 it was about winning one of the most iconic skins in CS history: the AWP | Dragon Lore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We spoke to the winner about his picks, his emotions, and how a single skin is about to change everything for him.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p>I\u2019m very shocked. I can\u2019t even describe what I\u2019m feeling.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked about how it felt to win, the response was pure emotion:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m very shocked, I can\u2019t even describe what I\u2019m feeling \u2014 the best thing ever to happen to me. This will change my life significantly and help my financial situation a lot. I feel very grateful. Thank you.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For him, the Dragon Lore is more than pixels on a screen. It\u2019s a life opportunity:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ll probably sell it and buy a car, which I very desperately need. And use some of the money to get a good skin loadout \u2014 a pair of gloves and a knife, definitely.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>The Strategy: Stats Over Emotion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beating thousands of other entries in a Pick\u2019Em challenge isn\u2019t about luck \u2014 it\u2019s about being smart. While many players fall into the trap of voting with their hearts, this winner took a different path. He focused on stats, form, map pools, and team synergy rather than fandom or hype. It\u2019s a method that demands discipline and often means going against the crowd, even if it feels risky.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In my opinion, what helped me was not picking my favorite teams based on emotion but sticking to stats and facts.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still, even the most data-driven strategy comes with its gambles. One of his boldest calls \u2014 Falcons going 3-0 \u2014 didn\u2019t go as planned:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My riskiest prediction was Falcons going 3-0. I thought after their great performance before they could do it \u2014 but they ended up 0-3, which sucked.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite that miss, his overall approach proved solid, and it\u2019s a reminder: in Pick\u2019Em, a single wrong pick won\u2019t ruin you \u2014 but emotional bias just might.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>On Underdogs and Overrated Teams<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It wasn\u2019t just the right picks that led him to victory \u2014 it was understanding the story behind the teams. As the Major unfolded, he closely watched how squads adapted under pressure, and wasn\u2019t afraid to change his view based on performance, not brand value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked what went wrong for some of the fan-favorite teams, he pointed to a common issue \u2014 chemistry that never translated from theory to practice:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Falcons looked better on paper than in games. Their chemistry seemed off, especially in bigger matches \u2014 they were under pressure and made too many mistakes.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, he gave credit where it was due. One of the biggest surprises of the Pick\u2019Em was Virtus.pro, who stormed through the opening stage with an unexpected 3-0 run:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In my opinion, VP did really well and outperformed their expectations \u2014 going 3-0 was unexpected.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spotting both flukes and flops is what separated his Pick\u2019Em sheet from thousands of others \u2014 and proved that trusting performance over reputation pays off.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Why He Trusted Vitality<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even with doubts from the community about whether Vitality could keep up its momentum, he stayed firm:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I thought Vitality would win the whole Major due to the fact that they are currently playing very well, almost unstoppable. With such a winning streak and such momentum, it\u2019s hard to stop any team \u2014 especially if they have such a great lineup. And ZywOo is just too good.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before the Major, Vitality had won six consecutive tier-1 tournaments and remained undefeated in those events, boasting a 30-map win streak. They weren\u2019t just favorites \u2014 they looked like inevitable champions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Advice for the Community: \u201cCopium is the real enemy\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked what the biggest mistake is in Pick\u2019Em, he didn\u2019t hesitate:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Picking their favourite teams to win. Copium.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a lesson every Pick\u2019Em player can relate to \u2014 but few are brave enough to follow through. Too often, fans let emotions cloud their judgment, choosing beloved teams instead of logical picks. Whether it\u2019s hoping for a G2 miracle run, betting on NAVI out of nostalgia, or trusting a hometown roster, emotional bias is the downfall of many entries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And it\u2019s not just about picking favorites \u2014 it\u2019s about ignoring form, overrating reputation, and underestimating underdogs. Real success in Pick\u2019Em requires discipline: following the stats, tracking momentum, and knowing when to go against the crowd.
