According to many players and analysts, its layout is almost an identical copy of the iconic Inferno map from Counter-Strike 2.<\/p><h3>A new wave of controversy in the Counter-Strike community<\/h3><p>The issue was first pointed out by well-known insider and content creator Gabe Follower, who published map comparisons on social media. The video shows that key passages, arches, the &ldquo;banana,&rdquo; and bombsite placements completely replicate CS2&rsquo;s design.<\/p><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A week ago, devs of FragPunk released a new map called Toyland, which is a ONE TO ONE copy of CS2's Inferno. FragPunk&rsquo;s map uses its own visual elements and textures, meaning that technically no assets were stolen. &ldquo;Valve won&rsquo;t win a lawsuit unless Inferno has a registered trademark,&rdquo; wrote user Chizuru the Deaf Gamer.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">Supporters of legal action insist that level design should also be considered intellectual property. &ldquo;Imagine if another studio took Nuketown from Call of Duty and inserted it into their own game. That&rsquo;s an obvious violation,&rdquo; replied Gabe Follower.<\/li>\n<\/ul><h3>The debate over Valve&rsquo;s double standards<\/h3><p>At the center of the discussion is Valve&rsquo;s own policy. The company has often been accused of a double standard: fan-made mods and projects based on Counter-Strike (such as CS: Classic Offensive or community remasters of old maps) are frequently shut down for &ldquo;copyright infringement,&rdquo; while large corporations seem to face far less pressure.<\/p><blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p>Gabe Follower clarified: Valve won&rsquo;t openly get into conflict with another big publisher. But then they need to be consistent: either stop killing community projects for the same reasons, or go all the way. Otherwise, it&rsquo;s just corporate hypocrisy.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote><h3>The irony of history: Inferno was originally a community map<\/h3><p>Another argument added fuel to the debate: the first version of Inferno was created by the community back in the CS 1.6 era and later officially integrated into Valve&rsquo;s game.<\/p><blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p>Isn&rsquo;t it ironic? Inferno itself was once a community map, and now there&rsquo;s a dispute over its copyright, noted user Meaty.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote><p>This fact makes the situation even more complicated: if the map itself was born from community creativity, does Valve have a monopoly over its layout?<\/p><h3>Community reaction: &ldquo;it&rsquo;s literally a copy&rdquo;<\/h3><p>Most players agree that Toyland is far too similar to Inferno.<\/p><ul class=\"article-list-pink\">\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">Ratte: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s literally identical.&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">UPDOG: &ldquo;Not exactly 1:1 &mdash; visually different, but the layout is the same. Whether a lawsuit would hold up is another question.&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">Lucas: &ldquo;Bro, what the hell is this?..&rdquo;<\/li>\n<\/ul><p>Such comments reflect both the shock of fans and doubts about the real prospects of legal action.<\/p><h3>What&rsquo;s next?<\/h3><p>So far, Valve has not officially commented on the situation.
