He spoke about VACnet\u2019s weak spots, Valve\u2019s approach to anti-cheat, and explained why in 2025 cheaters still find it easy to remain unpunished.<\/p>\n<h2>CS2 anti-cheat problems in 2025<\/h2>\n<p>Despite the release of CS2 and Valve\u2019s big promises, the cheating situation remains critical. Key problems outlined by the developer include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"article-list-pink\">\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">VACnet is outdated and ineffective. It\u2019s easier to bypass now than it was back in CS:GO.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">No kernel-level anti-cheat. Valve refuses to implement it, which allows external cheats to stay fully invisible.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">Trust Factor isolates but doesn\u2019t ban. The system partly works, but closet cheaters can easily remain in \u201cgreen TF.\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">Subtick broke old detection methods. Most modern exploits in CS2 are based on this system.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">Valve lacks manpower. According to the developer, only a handful of people work on VACnet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key points from the interview<\/h2>\n<p>The developer stated that Valve \u201cabsolutely doesn\u2019t care\u201d about the cheating issue in CS2. According to him, VACnet has no access to external cheats:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p>\u201cFor it, we look like a random protected process. If VAC tries to read the memory, it gets an access violation. We keep improving, but bypassing VAC isn\u2019t a problem.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p>He admitted that the only real threat would be a kernel-level anti-cheat:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p>\u201cA kernel AC would be a problem and would probably kill us. But that goes against Valve\u2019s policy, so I don\u2019t think they\u2019ll ever do it. If they did, we\u2019d try to fight it but most likely shut down.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-239010\" src=\"https:\/\/community.skin.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/vischeck_old-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/community.skin.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/vischeck_old-1024x576.webp 1024w, https:\/\/community.skin.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/vischeck_old-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/community.skin.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/vischeck_old-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/community.skin.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/vischeck_old-1536x864.webp 1536w, https:\/\/community.skin.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/vischeck_old.webp 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Trust Factor, he explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p>\u201cIn Europe and NA it works up to around ~18k, where you almost never meet cheaters. But \u2018green TF\u2019 is misleading \u2014 you don\u2019t know how green it actually is. Cheaters always have higher volatility in glicko-2, so they quickly show up as anomalies. But that doesn\u2019t stop skilled closet cheaters from staying untouched.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p>On the moral side of his work, he was blunt:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"custom-bq\"><div class=\"custom-bq-q\"><p>\u201cI don\u2019t feel guilty. Closet cheating is invisible to legit players, and semi-rage usually puts cheaters into high volatility and high ranks. If it wasn\u2019t us, it\u2019d be someone else. And at our price point and with our features, there\u2019s almost no competition.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Community reaction<\/h2>\n<p>After the interview was published, X users actively shared their reactions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"article-list-pink\">\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">KSW33T: \u201cDid you report him at the end of match?\u201d \u2014 joking about the uselessness of in-game reports.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">Diabetiskind: \u201cI mean they can\u2019t because false bans, I get that\u2026 but when it\u2019s AI at this point to do this I mean a human can\u2019t see some things but a computer can.\u201d \u2014 pointing out that AI should be key to catching cheaters.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">masikokolika: \u201cThis is wild. Always wondered how some cheats stay undetected\u2026\u201d \u2014 shocked but curious about how external cheats remain invisible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>This interview confirms what many players have long said: in 2025, CS2\u2019s anti-cheat remains more symbolic than effective.
