After a string of disappointing results during the summer and a painful start at FISSURE Playground 2 in Belgrade, the organization decided to act decisively and begin rebuilding right away. The face of this transformation is hypex &mdash; a young and ambitious Polish sniper tasked with fixing the team&rsquo;s problem position and bringing stability with the AWP.<\/p><h3>Why Kursy didn&rsquo;t settle<\/h3><p>GamerLegion signed Kursy to address their long-standing issue of inconsistency with the AWP role. However, after just two months, he never managed to fit into coach Ashley &ldquo;&#8288;ash&#8288;&rdquo; Battye&rsquo;s system. His statistics and individual performances did not meet expectations, while the team as a whole continued to lag behind more ambitious Tier-1 and Tier-2 squads.<\/p><p>The poor start at FISSURE Playground 2, where GamerLegion lost to TYLOO in their opening Swiss match, only highlighted the need for change. The organization chose to act proactively, and the AWP role was filled with the transfer of hypex.<\/p><h3>Who is hypex?<\/h3><p>21-year-old Milan &ldquo;&#8288;hypex&#8288;&rdquo; Polowiec is considered one of the most promising Polish players of the new generation. In less than a year with Betclic Apogee, he established himself as a reliable sniper with strong individual performances:<\/p><ul class=\"article-list-pink\">\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">1.14 average rating during his time with Betclic;<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">1.08 rating at his first Big Event &mdash; PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, where he faced elite competition (FURIA, Astralis, The MongolZ, Aurora, FaZe);<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">earned the status of the roster&rsquo;s star player and became Poland&rsquo;s first real attempt to return to the international stage since the legendary Virtus.pro era.<\/li>\n<\/ul><p>His style of play is defined by aggression in key rounds, a willingness to take initiative, and consistent clutch performances. The tournament will be a major test for GL, as the group stage will once again pit them against some of the world&rsquo;s top teams.<\/p><p>For hypex, this will be a true &ldquo;survival school&rdquo;: he will need to prove immediately that he is ready for the Tier-1 level, not just for matches against European mid-tier opponents. At the same time, for the club, it&rsquo;s an opportunity to finally secure a stable AWPer around whom a new system can be built.<\/p><h3>Double change: Kursy and sl3nd benched<\/h3><p>Following hypex&rsquo;s signing, the club confirmed that Kursy is being benched, joining Hungarian sniper Henrich &ldquo;&#8288;sl3nd&#8288;&rdquo; Hevesi, who has been inactive since June. His former club, Betclic Apogee, bid him farewell with warm words: &ldquo;Take good care of him &rdquo;, to which GamerLegion replied: &ldquo;We will&rdquo;.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">GL fans were divided in their opinions. Some welcomed the signing, highlighting the Pole&rsquo;s potential: &ldquo;He has all the potential. Now to make something out of it&rdquo; or &ldquo;Welcome to the new Polish fans of GamerLegion&rdquo;. Polish supporters, in turn, greeted the news with excitement, shouting: &ldquo;COME ON BOSS LET&rsquo;S FUCKING GO&rdquo;.<\/li>\n<li class=\"article-list-pink__item\">However, there was also criticism. Some users pointed out that the club had already missed opportunities to sign strong AWPers before: &ldquo;First miss out on phzy, and now miss out on Nawwk, embarrassing&rdquo;.
