The Romanian tournament organizer PGL continues to strengthen its position on the professional Counter-Strike 2 scene. The organization has officially confirmed the hosting of 15 Tier-1 tournaments during 2027–2028, making a statement that could be considered the most ambitious in CS history.<\/p>

PGL sets the pace for a new Counter-Strike era<\/strong><\/h2>

Since the release of CS2, the professional tournament ecosystem has been undergoing gradual reform — from the abolition of franchised leagues to the return of an open participation model. PGL, which has remained one of the most influential organizers since the CS:GO era, is now effectively taking on the role of a driving force behind the new tournament cycle, shaping the foundation of the future esports calendar.<\/p>

In its official press release, the company emphasized that 2027 and 2028 will be “among the most intense periods in Counter-Strike history,” combining large-scale international tournaments with the development of new markets — particularly through its partnership with Perfect World for Asian championships.<\/p>

Details of the PGL CS2 2027 calendar<\/strong><\/h2>

PGL will host six independent tournaments and provide English-language coverage for the Counter-Strike Asia Championships 2027, scheduled for August. The new dates span nearly the entire competitive season — from January to October:<\/p>

    The following year, PGL plans to host eight Tier-1 tournaments, covering nearly the entire competitive season. This means the average gap between events will be only about six weeks — a pace unseen even during the peak years of CS:GO.<\/p>
