ESL have officially published the bracket for the closed qualifiers to IEM Rio 2026, where two participants of the main tournament in Brazil will be determined. The qualification matches will take place from January 21 to January 23, and 16 teams will compete for the available slots.<\/p>\n

IEM Rio 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

IEM Rio 2026 will take place from April 13 to April 19 in Rio de Janeiro and will feature a prize pool of $1,000,000. Sixteen teams will participate, and only two of them will qualify for the tournament through the closed qualifier. That is why every match in this stage carries extremely high value, as a single loss can cost teams the opportunity to play at one of the most prestigious LAN events of the season.<\/p>\n

The bracket published by ESL immediately attracted attention due to several interesting opening matchups and because of noticeable changes in the list of participants, which seriously affected the overall balance of power.<\/p>\n\n

One of the central matches of the opening stage will be the confrontation between FUT Esports and the German roster tripex17 & doni. For FUT, this is a chance to confirm their status as a stable and ambitious team that aims to compete at top tournaments. For their opponents, it is an opportunity to make a loud statement on the international stage and take advantage of the chance that opened up due to several strong teams declining participation in the qualifier.<\/p>\n

Another key pairing of the first round will be the match between FNATIC and Kolesie. FNATIC come into the qualifier as a far more experienced roster with a strong background of LAN appearances.
