PGL have officially announced the invited teams for PGL Astana 2026<\/a>, which will take place from May 9\u201317 in Kazakhstan. The $1.6 million tournament will feature 16 teams, with 12 direct invites and the remaining four spots decided through regional qualifiers. The announcement quickly sparked discussion after several notable teams \u2014 including Vitality and Natus Vincere \u2014 declined their invitations.<\/p>\n

Although the majority of top teams accepted the invitation, a number of prominent organizations chose not to attend the event. According to available information, Vitality, NAVI, Astralis, FaZe, GamerLegion, and NRG all declined their invitations. One key reason appears to be the scheduling conflict with IEM Atlanta, which takes place during the same period.<\/p>\n

This creates a situation where many teams prioritized the ESL event instead of the PGL tournament in Kazakhstan. Despite the absences, Astana will still feature several high-profile teams from the current world ranking.<\/p>\n\n
