Valve\u2019s latest VRS snapshot confirms what many teams already feel \u2014 the Major race has entered its most chaotic and decisive phase. With just two weeks remaining before the April cutoff, every match now directly impacts qualification. The gap between teams is razor-thin, especially in the mid-table zone, where a single win can secure a Major slot \u2014 and a single loss can eliminate a team entirely. This week did not just shift the ranking. It reshaped the race.<\/p>\n

When and How the VRS Ranking Works<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Valve updates the official VRS ranking once per month, on the first Monday. This ranking determines everything: direct invites, qualification paths, seeding, and most importantly \u2014 Major participation.<\/p>\n

Only the official Valve update matters. Third-party projections help track trends, but do not influence invites. The April update will lock in the Major teams \u2014 meaning what happens now is decisive.<\/p>\n

THUNDER dOWNUNDER<\/strong><\/p>\n

THUNDER dOWNUNDER made one of the biggest jumps of the week after completing the ANZ double \u2014 winning both DFRAG Wildcard LAN Season 1 and ANZC Locals Brisbane 2026. This was a crucial run in the context of the Major race. The timing of these victories pushed them directly into a qualification position and effectively secured their Major spot.<\/p>\n

NRG<\/strong><\/p>\n

NRG climbed significantly after defeating B8 at BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026. This result had a direct impact on their VRS position and pushed them into a stable qualification zone. At this stage of the race, such wins are decisive \u2014 and NRG have likely secured their place at the Major.<\/p>\n

K27<\/strong><\/p>\n

K27 continued their steady rise through consistent performances in online and LAN events. Victories at CCT Season 3 Europe Series 18 and strong results in ESL Challenger League keep them inside the invite zone. However, their position is not fully secured, and they still need to maintain momentum.<\/p>\n

Liquid<\/strong><\/p>\n

Liquid improved their position after a key win over Ninjas in Pyjamas at BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026. This result brought them closer to securing a Major spot. However, their situation still depends on match count requirements, meaning additional games could be necessary.<\/p>\n

Voca<\/strong><\/p>\n

Voca gained positions after winning NSTLGA Washington Open 2026. While this result keeps them in the race, their chances remain very limited. They will need multiple high-impact results to realistically challenge for qualification.<\/p>\n

BetBoom<\/strong><\/p>\n

BetBoom did not play any official matches during this period and dropped in the ranking. At this stage of the season, inactivity is one of the most punishing factors in the VRS system, as other teams continue to accumulate points.<\/p>\n

Ninjas in Pyjamas<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ninjas in Pyjamas lost two matches at BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026, which significantly hurt their ranking position. These losses pushed them out of a stable qualification zone, putting their Major chances under serious pressure.<\/p>\n

BC.Game<\/strong><\/p>\n

BC.Game played at Roman Imperium Cup VI but failed to secure meaningful results, including losses to lower-ranked teams. Combined with their withdrawal from ROG Journey Spring 2026, this led to a significant drop in the ranking.<\/p>\n

FaZe<\/strong><\/p>\n

FaZe suffered one of the most costly weeks in terms of VRS impact. Losses at BLAST Open Rotterdam \u2014 including a heavy defeat to TYLOO \u2014 resulted in a major points swing. At this stage, such losses have direct consequences for qualification.<\/p>\n

ECSTATIC<\/strong><\/p>\n

ECSTATIC lost to URSA at CCT Season 3 Europe Series 18 and did not play additional matches. In a highly active ranking period, a combination of losses and inactivity resulted in a drop in their position.<\/p>\n

    Europe<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    Europe is now clearly structured \u2014 but not decided. The top six \u2014 Vitality, MOUZ, NAVI, PARIVISION, Falcons, and Aurora \u2014 are effectively locked into late-stage Major spots. Their positions are stable. The next layer \u2014 Spirit, Astralis, FUT, G2, and GamerLegion \u2014 remains safe, but not guaranteed.<\/p>\n

    Among them, GamerLegion are the most vulnerable. Below that, the race becomes chaotic. HEROIC, Monte, 3DMAX, NiP, and FaZe are all fighting for survival. This is the most volatile part of the ranking. Outside the cutoff, BIG, B8, BetBoom, and Alliance remain within striking distance. One deep LAN run could completely reshape the standings.<\/p>\n

    Americas<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    The Americas region has clearer structure at the top, but remains unstable in the middle. FURIA are fully locked. Behind them, 9z and Legacy are in very strong positions. NRG\u2019s recent results have pushed them into a near-guaranteed Major slot. This is one of the most important developments of the week.<\/p>\n

    The battle for remaining spots includes MIBR, Sharks, paiN, M80, and Passion UA \u2014 all separated by minimal margins. Outside the qualification zone, Gaimin Gladiators, BESTIA, RED Canids, and Imperial still have a path \u2014 but it requires immediate high-impact results.<\/p>\n

    Asia<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    Asia remains the most unpredictable region in the VRS system. The MongolZ are fully locked as the region\u2019s strongest team. THUNDER dOWNUNDER have now joined them after their ANZ double, making them one of the biggest risers globally.<\/p>\n

    FlyQuest and TYLOO are also in strong positions. TYLOO in particular have built momentum as a \u201cgiant slayer\u201d team, capable of upsetting higher-ranked opponents. The final qualification spot is completely open. Lynn Vision, SemperFi, The Huns, Morningstar, and Rare Atom are all fighting for it. This is a region where one tournament can decide everything.<\/p>\n

    Two Weeks to Decide Everything<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    This VRS update makes one thing clear \u2014 the race is no longer forming. It is finishing. The top teams are already secured. The bottom teams are out. But the middle \u2014 where qualification is decided \u2014 remains completely unstable. Two weeks remain.<\/p>\n

    Every match matters: A LAN win can secure a Major slot. A single upset can eliminate a team. Inactivity can end a run instantly. For teams between 15th and 35th place, this is the most important stretch of the entire season.
