Cache\u2019s return to full FACEIT matchmaking is now official. After a large-scale vote, the platform confirmed that the map will appear in Season 8 as early as April 22, and matches played on it will immediately affect Elo.<\/p>\n

Cache won the vote and is entering Season 8<\/strong><\/h2>\n

FACEIT announced that Cache will join matchmaking in Season 8 on April 22 after receiving 148,840 votes. This is an important number not only on its own, but also as an indicator of demand: the map\u2019s return does not look like a platform-imposed decision, but rather like a response to a very clear request from the community.<\/p>\n

For FACEIT, this is also a good test of the scene\u2019s living nostalgia. Because Cache is not just another map in the pool, but one of those locations that has long held its own special status in the CS community. Before the queue opens on April 22, FACEIT specifically warned that in order to play Cache, players need to subscribe to the map in Steam in advance so that it downloads and is available to launch.<\/p>\n

In reality, on launch day, it is exactly because of details like this that some players traditionally fall into chaos \u2014 the map is not installed, the game is not ready, and the queue has already been found. So this point is worth stating immediately: Cache is not returning to FACEIT automatically out of thin air, but through a separate download.<\/p>\n

The return of Cache is also a test of how much the community still wants the old school<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Analytically, this news is interesting not only because of the map itself. It shows that FACEIT are willing to carefully expand the pool and see how ready the community really is to play not only the usual set of maps, but also something with a strong historical vibe.<\/p>\n
