After another title for Team Vitality, one of the team\u2019s key players, ropz, gave an in-depth interview<\/a> where he revealed surprising details about their preparation, explained the team\u2019s dominance in finals, and reflected on his own performance. The interview quickly spread across the community \u2014 not only because of his confidence, but also due to one shocking detail: Vitality barely practiced before the event.<\/p>\n

The most striking revelation from ropz was about the team\u2019s preparation. According to him, Vitality had almost no practice going into the event:<\/p>\n

Before this tournament we didn\u2019t practice at all. We had a media day and squeezed in two short practices \u2014 that was it.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

This means Vitality essentially arrived at the tournament cold, which makes their dominance even more impressive. ropz also noted that opponents were aware of this and saw it as an opportunity:<\/p>\n

Why Vitality keep winning anyway<\/h3>\n

Despite the lack of preparation, Vitality continue to win \u2014 often closing finals 3-0. ropz believes it comes down to their ability to perform under pressure:<\/p>\n

We have the X-factor to pull it off in those moments\u2026 when our backs are against the wall, we play our best.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

He also highlighted that the team played many close maps throughout the tournament, which helped them stay \u201cin the zone\u201d by the time they reached the final.<\/p>\n

ropz on clutch struggles and reputation<\/h3>\n

Interestingly, ropz admitted that before this match he hadn\u2019t won a single clutch during the event:<\/p>\n

Before this match I hadn\u2019t won a clutch this event \u2014 I think it was like 0 out of 7.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

However, he acknowledged that his reputation still affects opponents:<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re known as a good clutch player, people will always think you\u2019re going to make the right play.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

He also explained that his lurker role forces opponents to constantly respect his positioning and timings.<\/p>\n

Another key topic was his occasional use of the AWP:<\/p>\n

I have the freedom in my role\u2026 I can do what I think is right. Sometimes I pick up the AWP if it makes sense.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

This highlights Vitality\u2019s flexible system, where players are given more individual freedom to adapt mid-game.<\/p>\n

Comparing apEX and karrigan<\/h3>\n

ropz also compared his current in-game leader apEX with his former captain karrigan:<\/p>\n

They are very similar\u2026 same era, same understanding of the game. But right now apEX is just more on fire with his calling.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n

What\u2019s next for Vitality<\/strong><\/p>\n

While acknowledging the team\u2019s incredible form, ropz made it clear that their biggest goal is still ahead:<\/p>\n

It would be a dream to win everything before the Major\u2026 but the Major is the main goal.<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n
