At the start of major group brackets, it is important not only to win, but also to show how ready a team is to control the match under pressure. In this series, FUT quickly made it clear that they came to Atlanta not just to participate, but to make a deep run.<\/p>\n

Tournament context<\/strong><\/h2>\n

IEM Atlanta 2026 is being played in a group-stage double-elimination Bo3 format. In the opening upper-bracket matches, a win sends a team to the upper semi-finals, while a loss immediately drops it into lower round 1, where there is much less room for error.<\/p>\n

One of the first matches in Group A was the series between NRG and FUT. For both teams, this was an important way into the tournament: the winner would get a more comfortable position in the bracket, while the loser would immediately end up in the lower half.<\/p>\n\n

    \nOn their own choice, FUT already looked much more confident. NRG still stayed alive in the match in certain stretches, but in the second half of the series, their opponent controlled the tempo better and converted its chances more consistently.
