FURIA defeated G2 2-1 in the Esports World Cup 2026 quarter-final on August 20. The Brazilian organization became the first team to secure a place in the tournament\u2019s semi-finals.<\/p>\n

The series delivered three contrasting maps and featured a standout display from Danil \u201cmolodoy\u201d Golubenko. Meanwhile, G2\u2019s elimination ends their campaign in 5th-8th place, with the team receiving $60,000 in prize money. FURIA will now meet the winner of FUT vs MOUZ.<\/p>\n\n

FURIA Win a Three-Map Series<\/h2>\n

G2 began the series on Ancient, their own map pick. However, FURIA controlled the game from the start and secured a commanding 13-3 victory. The result gave FURIA an early advantage in the best-of-three.<\/p>\n

G2 responded on Anubis, which FURIA had selected. The European team won the map 13-3 and levelled the series at 1-1. As a result, the quarter-final moved to the deciding map, Dust2.<\/p>\n

Dust2 was left over in the veto and decided the series. FURIA once again took control, winning 13-4 to complete the 2-1 victory. The team therefore advanced to the Esports World Cup 2026 semi-final, while G2 exited the playoff stage.<\/p>\n

Danil \u201cmolodoy\u201d Golubenko was FURIA\u2019s highest-rated player in the series. He finished with 47 kills and 21 deaths, along with a 1.29 Rating 3.0.<\/p>\n

Mareks \u201cYEKINDAR\u201d Ga\u013cinskis also had a major impact on FURIA\u2019s win. He recorded a team-high 1.45 Rating 3.0, 38-29 K-D, 95.5 ADR and 83.7% KAST. Yuri \u201cyuurih\u201d Santos followed with a 1.32 rating.<\/p>\n
