The club apologized for \u201cwords used in the heat of emotion\u201d while firmly denying that any former players or staff have outstanding financial claims against the organization.<\/p>\n<p>The statement comes just days after Aurimas \u201cBymas\u201d Pipiras went public on social media, claiming Monte owes him tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid salary, prize money, and sticker revenue. Monte\u2019s core lineup, featuring Bymas, Oscar \u201cAZUWU\u201d Bell, and Aur\u00e9lien \u201cafro\u201d Drapier, had contracts set to expire around June 22, 2026. Luminosity Gaming, returning to Counter-Strike 2 after a $645,000 asset sale to Vertiqal, targeted exactly this trio to build its new roster.<\/p>\n<p>According to Monte\u2019s own account, the three players signed with Luminosity before the IEM Cologne Major had even finished, despite months of ongoing renewal talks with Monte. The organization says it directly asked the players whether they had signed elsewhere, and the players denied it at the time. As a result, Monte\u2019s IGL Jack \u201cGizmy\u201d von Spreckelsen also departed once the core left, later joining 100 Thieves.community.<\/p>\n<h2>The Core Financial Dispute<\/h2>\n<p>Bymas kicked off the public dispute first. He accused Monte of owing him unpaid salary, tournament prize money, and bonuses. He also claimed a share of team sticker sales from the still-ongoing IEM Cologne Major. In addition, he said several other former players and the team\u2019s coach were owed money.<\/p>\n<p>Monte\u2019s response addressed the accusations point by point. On salaries and prize money, the organization says it made payments regularly on a monthly basis before Cologne. It distributed prize money once tournament operators credited the funds. For the players who signed with Luminosity, Monte says it settled everything according to the contract terms once the situation became clear.<\/p>\n<p>Sticker payments drew the sharpest response. Monte explained that Valve\u2019s new revenue system splits sticker income 50\/50 between the organization and players. The old system let players keep 100% of their own stickers plus a share of team stickers. Monte says each side simply received its portion under the new rules.<\/p>\n<p>Monte did acknowledge some payment delays. However, the club says they never lasted more than two to three weeks. External factors caused these delays, not mismanagement, according to the statement. The organization insists it always informed players in advance. It also says it eventually paid every outstanding amount in full.<\/p>\n<p>Bymas isn\u2019t alone in raising concerns, though. Rainwaker and AZUWU have also described payment problems during their time at Monte.
