A newly reported Counter-Strike 2 exploit can cause severe server lag and freezes, including in Premier matches. According to a demonstration shared on X, the issue is connected to abuse of voice-data messages sent from a player client to the game server.<\/p>

THE EXPLOIT ABUSES VOICE-DATA MESSAGES<\/h2>

The reported exploit is connected to CCLCMsg_VoiceData<\/code>, a protobuf message used by CS2 to transmit voice data from the client to the server.<\/p>

According to the report, cheaters can flood the server with an abnormally large number of these messages. The claimed volume is around 1,000 times higher than normal voice-chat traffic, although that specific figure has not been independently confirmed.<\/p>

The demonstration shows the server becoming heavily unstable, with players experiencing severe lag and freezes while the match continues.<\/p>

Unlike a normal connection problem that affects only one player, the reported exploit can disrupt the entire server. Because the traffic goes through a system normally used for in-game voice communication, players themselves have no obvious way to prevent the problem through game or network settings.<\/p>

CS2 dataminer Thour later said on X that he had already sent information about the exploit to the developers and hopes the issue will be fixed soon.<\/p>

PREMIER MATCHES CAN ALSO BE AFFECTED<\/h2>

One of the main concerns is that the exploit reportedly works in official Premier matches and is not limited to community servers.<\/p>

The issue appears to be different from a traditional server crash. Instead of immediately taking the match offline, the server remains active while becoming extremely unstable, which can make normal gameplay almost impossible.<\/p>

That can also make the source of the problem less obvious during a match, especially when players appear to have normal ping despite experiencing freezes and heavy stuttering.<\/p>

Valve have not publicly commented on the exploit or announced a fix yet. It is also unclear how widespread its use currently is.<\/p>

The latest reports add another technical issue to the list of exploits discussed by the CS2 community in recent weeks. For now, players will have to wait for a server-side fix, with Thour saying the developers have already received information about the problem.<\/p>
