NAVI have found themselves in a situation where the results of their upcoming tier-1 matches could affect several important tournaments at once. According to calculations by VRS analyst Udknud, the team risks falling outside the positions required for direct invites to BLAST Rivals and PGL Bucharest 2027, although he still estimates their chances of reaching the Major at around 90%.<\/p>\n

NAVI may be left without the next tier-1 invites<\/strong><\/h2>\n

NAVI\u2019s main problem right now is connected to their position in VRS. For BLAST Rivals, invites should go to the eight best available teams, while for PGL Bucharest 2027 the cutoff will be approximately around the top 14. Therefore, even several unsuccessful results could leave NAVI outside direct invites.<\/p>\n

According to the analyst\u2019s assessment, the match against MOUZ may be especially dangerous. In case of a loss, NAVI could drop to around 25th place in Valve\u2019s October ranking snapshot, which would significantly complicate the fight for the nearest major invites.<\/p>\n\n

The VRS situation has noticeably worsened<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Just a few months ago, NAVI were much higher and regularly received direct invites to major tournaments. However, the latest stretch of the season has gradually pushed the team downward, and now every next series carries significantly more weight.<\/p>\n

This is especially important because of the specifics of VRS: not only a win or a loss matters, but also the level of the opponent, the stage of the tournament, and the subsequent result. Therefore, one unsuccessful event can affect several upcoming competitions at once.<\/p>\n

The Major situation is still much better<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Despite the risk of losing some tier-1 invites, Udknud is much more optimistic about NAVI\u2019s prospects in the fight for the Major. According to his calculations, the team\u2019s qualification probability currently stands at around 90%.<\/p>\n

NAVI are guaranteed to have at least seven more matches at tier-1 level. According to the analyst, for there to be a serious risk of missing the Major, the team would need to lose around four or five of those seven matches and then also fail to compensate for the losses with deep runs at the next tournaments.<\/p>\n

Other models give a much lower estimate<\/strong><\/h2>\n

At the same time, different VRS models differ noticeably in their predictions. Analyst Mischief estimates NAVI\u2019s chances of reaching the Major at 66.3%, meaning the probability of missing the tournament in his model is 33.7%.<\/p>\n

The difference between around 90% and 66.3% shows how strongly the result depends on the method used to calculate future scenarios. These are not Valve\u2019s official chances, but analytical models that assess NAVI\u2019s potential results and those of their competitors in different ways.<\/p>\n

Seven matches may define the entire autumn stretch<\/strong><\/h2>\n

For NAVI, the upcoming series effectively become a double fight. The team needs not only to advance further at current tournaments, but also to simultaneously defend the position that will provide access to the next tier-1 events.<\/p>\n

A series of early exits would be an especially dangerous scenario. Even if NAVI keep enough points for the Major, falling outside the top 8 or top 14 could reduce the number of major tournaments in their calendar and, accordingly, limit their opportunities to quickly regain ranking positions.<\/p>\n\n

The Major is not lost yet, but the safety margin is shrinking<\/strong><\/h2>\n

For now, it is too early to talk about NAVI inevitably missing the Major. According to one model, NAVI remain roughly a 90-percent candidate to participate, while according to another, they have 66.3%, so even the more pessimistic scenario still gives the team an advantage in favor of qualification.<\/p>\n

The much more realistic short-term threat looks like the loss of direct tier-1 invites.
