The CS2 chicken egg story keeps growing. After data miner CSMENT first confirmed the existence of a folder called \u201cPet Book\u201d inside the game\u2019s files, we decided to look deeper. What we found was a large, mostly complete set of assets tied to the mystery pet system.<\/p>\n

This matters because it moves the story from a single leaked folder name to real, visible content. Instead of just knowing the Pet Book exists, players can now see what it actually contains.<\/p>\n\n

How We Found the Files<\/h2>\n

CSMENT was the first to spot the Pet Book folder and share it on X, alongside hatching and movement animations for chickens. However, the post only confirmed that the folder existed. It did not show everything inside it.<\/p>\n

From there, we went through the game\u2019s files ourselves. Inside, we found dozens of individual images, ranging from page titles and decorative graphics to darker, unexplained assets.<\/p>\n

What the Files Contain<\/h2>\n

The Pet Book appears to work like a scrapbook-style diary. Several page titles use a handwritten font, including \u201cJust Hatched,\u201d \u201cEarly Days,\u201d and \u201cA Little Older.\u201d These labels suggest the book tracks a pet chicken\u2019s growth over time, stage by stage.<\/p>\n

The design also includes classic scrapbook elements. A gold oval photo frame, a textured book cover, watercolor leaf borders, and small footprint graphics all appear throughout the files. Together, they give the Pet Book a personal, keepsake-style feel rather than a simple in-game menu.<\/p>\n

Two more pages stand out for a different reason. One is titled \u201cPark Life,\u201d while the other is titled \u201cRoad Trip.\u201d The Road Trip page uses a worn map background covered in travel-style patches. Each patch names a real CS2 map, including Inferno, Overpass, Nuke (labeled \u201cCedar Creek\u201d), Mirage, and Ancient. This links the Pet Book directly to maps players already recognize.<\/p>\n

Not everything fits a lighthearted pet theme, though. One image reads \u201cWANTED \u2014 For Accessory To Tactical Chaos,\u201d styled like an old wanted poster, next to a repeating pattern of a pistol, knife, grenade, and rifle. Another file is labeled \u201cThe Way of the Spur,\u201d pointing to a further section that remains unexplained.<\/p>\n

The files also include two unsettling images. One shows a roasted chicken lying in flames, paired with a form labeled \u201cFIELD INCEDENT REPORT\u201d from a fictional \u201cVCS \u2013 Operation Center.\u201d The other shows scattered feathers and a lightning-like burst rising from a cracked patch of ground, tagged as a \u201cFIELD PHOTO.\u201d Neither has been explained so far, but both share the same in-universe photo-report style used elsewhere in the leak.<\/p>\n
