The start of the Swiss system immediately tests how ready a team is to consistently execute its plan without the right to a slow beginning. In the first round, even one series significantly changes the further route, as a victory gives a more comfortable record, while a loss immediately increases the pressure before the next match.

Tournament context

ESL Pro League Season 24 takes place with Group Play in a Swiss Bo3 format. Teams start with a 0:0 record: the winner of the first series moves to the 1:0 group, while the losing team drops to 0:1 and continues the fight in the tournament.

G2 and Natus Vincere met in the opening match. NAVI immediately took the opponent’s pick on Cache, after which they played Inferno even more convincingly and finished the series without needing to go to the decisive Mirage.
