The start of the Swiss system immediately tests teams’ readiness to quickly enter the tournament rhythm, as the very first series already determines their further route in the group. It is especially important not only to get a positive record, but also to avoid the early pressure that comes after moving to the group with one loss.

Tournament context

ESL Pro League Season 24 takes place with Group Play in a Swiss Bo3 format. Teams start with a 0:0 record: the winner of the first series moves to the 1:0 group, while the losing team drops to 0:1 and continues the fight in the tournament.

FURIA and BETBOOM met in the opening match. The Brazilian roster immediately took the opponent’s pick on Mirage, while on Cache they withstood a much closer battle and closed the series in overtime, not allowing the match to go to Nuke.
