3DMAX CEO Stéphane Pons has launched a public fundraiser to help finance the team’s upcoming LAN appearances as the French organization continues to struggle with serious financial problems. The campaign comes shortly after a proposed acquisition of 3DMAX by French YouTuber CYRILmp4 reportedly collapsed. According to KRL, the two sides had been negotiating for several months and had even signed a preliminary agreement before CYRILmp4 ultimately withdrew from the deal.

3DMAX reportedly owe more than €1.5 million

The financial situation surrounding 3DMAX appears increasingly difficult. Pons stated that the organization still owes more than €1.5 million to its players, coaching staff, communication and business development providers, merchandise partners and other parties.

Despite the problems, the CEO insisted that he intends to keep supporting the team and help the players continue competing.

The news is terrible… But I’m not going to sit idly by.

Pons stressed that 3DMAX have an important period ahead, with two LAN tournaments scheduled for September and potentially three more in October as the team continues its race toward qualification for the Singapore Major.

Our players, our staff, and our providers deserve better. And I won’t stop providing them with my support, both moral and financial.

CEO turns to crowdfunding for upcoming LAN events

With the organization struggling to cover its expenses, Pons has now asked the community and potential partners for financial assistance. He said anyone capable of helping finance the team’s LAN trips or organizations interested in entering Counter-Strike could contact him directly.

A public fundraiser titled “road to Major Singapour” was also created on August 22. At the time shown in the campaign page, it had yet to receive its first contribution. Pons made clear that the immediate objective is to keep the roster competing through the coming months and preserve its opportunity to qualify for the Major.

We still have battles to fight. And I fully intend to fight them alongside them.

The crowdfunding campaign underlines the severity of 3DMAX’s current financial situation. Despite reportedly owing more than €1.5 million and seeing a potential takeover fall through, the organization is attempting to keep its Counter-Strike project alive long enough to continue its push toward the Singapore Major.м
