B8 Esports have confirmed that Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov has been added to the transfer list, as the organization evaluates alternative sniper options and plans to decide on the future of the AWP role within the next two weeks, while remaining open to negotiations.

headtr1ck reacts: open to both AWP and rifler roles

headtr1ck was quick to comment on the situation on X, admitting that the news came as a surprise. According to the player, he was ready to continue competing with B8, but respects the organization’s decision.

I’ve recently got the unexpected news from B8 that they want to tryout other players in my role. I was ready to continue with them but it is what it is. I am proud with my work in this organisation as we grew together from top40 2 years ago to top 10 at the moment.

The Ukrainian also mark that he is open not only to AWP offers, but also to rifler roles — a position he considered his primary one earlier in his career and still feels confident playing.

Nearly two years with B8 and a Major breakthrough

headtr1ck joined B8 almost two years ago and became an important part of the team’s gradual rise on the tier-two scene. During that time, the roster showed steady online progress and secured several deep runs at LAN events.

The peak of that journey came at the StarLadder Budapest Major, where B8 reached Stage 3. In the final Swiss phase, the team finished with a 2–3 record after facing Falcons, MOUZ, Vitality, paiN, and Natus Vincere.

Individually, headtr1ck performed solidly in the early stages of the Major, but his form dipped in the second half of the season as B8 became more frequent participants on the tier-one circuit. Across that period, he averaged a 0.94 rating — a factor that likely played a role in the club’s current decision.

Community reaction and what’s next

The announcement sparked mixed reactions within the community. Some fans expressed disappointment, pointing to the lack of Ukrainian AWPers at the top level, while others supported the move, citing declining statistics and B8’s growing ambitions.

The next two weeks will be decisive: either B8 commit to a new sniper or place their trust back in headtr1ck. In any case, the decision could have a significant impact on the team’s form heading into the 2026 season.
