BC.Game become the biggest VRS winners after EWC 2026 qualifier

The Esports World Cup 2026 Open Qualifier significantly changed the Valve Regional Standings. However, HLTV’s public table does not show the full impact yet. VRS analyst Jesper “Udknud” Larsen calculated the updated standings after the qualifier. His data shows BC.Game as the biggest winners by a considerable margin. The calculations include the EWC qualifier results and other ranking effects. Some of these changes will only appear later because the EWC main event has not started yet.

BC.Game recorded the largest VRS gain among all teams at the qualifier. The team collected 281 points during its run in Paris. As a result, BC.Game climbed two positions to 50th place with a projected total of 1,357 VRS points.

However, HLTV’s current ranking reflects only part of that improvement. Udknud noted that 32 of those 281 points currently affect the difference shown on HLTV. Therefore, the public ranking does not display the full value of BC.Game’s qualifier run yet.

Several other teams also made significant progress. JiJieHao gained 230 points, while 100 Thieves earned 191. In addition, 1win collected 158 points and fnatic added 157. K27 gained 147, while HOTU finished with an increase of 144.

BIG also made one of the most notable jumps near the top of the standings. Udknud’s calculations place the German team 16th with 1,639 points. That represents a rise of two positions. Overall, BIG gained 116 VRS points from the EWC qualifier. However, only 29 points currently separate their projected total from the figure displayed on HLTV. Liquid remain 19th with 1,611 points after earning 45 points at the qualifier. Meanwhile, HEROIC sit 26th with 1,517. 100 Thieves climbed three positions to 28th and now have 1,512 points.

Spirit remain at the top of VRS

The qualifier did not change the leading positions in the ranking. Spirit remain No. 1 with 2,018 points, while Falcons hold second place with 1,946. 9z and MOUZ follow with 1,883 points each. Vitality complete the top five with 1,831.

Most of the movement happened further down the table. Small point differences can have a much larger effect there. For example, EYEBALLERS climbed to 29th in Udknud’s projected standings after gaining 108 points.

The EWC qualifier therefore had an impact beyond deciding the final teams for the main event. Its VRS points could also affect future tournament invitations. The complete picture should become clearer once the remaining ranking changes appear in the public standings.
