Betclic have completed their Counter-Strike 2 roster by signing Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak. The 22-year-old Polish AWPer joins after leaving Liquid’s active lineup. He takes the position previously held by Olek “hades” Miskiewicz. The transfer brings ultimate back to a Polish roster after two years abroad. It also strengthens Betclic following their recent victory at Stake Pulse Beat I.
ultimate returns to Poland after two years with Liquid
ultimate joined Liquid from Illuminar in July 2024 as a relatively unknown prospect. His aggressive AWPing quickly attracted attention. The Pole soon established himself as one of the team’s most promising additions.
However, his form became less consistent over time. Liquid eventually decided to change their AWPer this summer and brought in Georgi “Jorko” Mitev. That decision opened the door for ultimate to return to the Polish scene.
Betclic announced the transfer with the message “ROLAND BACK IN POLAND.” The organization also described ultimate as the final piece of its new lineup. In replies to supporters, Betclic confirmed that it bought out the player rather than signing him on loan.
ultimate already has experience with the Betclic core
The 22-year-old will not start completely from scratch with his new teammates. Earlier this summer, ultimate represented Poland alongside members of the Betclic lineup. Together, they helped the national team qualify for the Esports Nations Cup.
That experience should make his transition into the roster easier. Betclic also expect to return to competition almost immediately. The organization said ultimate will make his debut at a tournament at the end of next week. However, it has not yet revealed the event. Betclic currently sit 46th in the Valve Regional Standings. Strong results with ultimate could help the team climb the ranking and earn invitations to bigger tournaments.
Betclic continue building after Stake Pulse Beat I title
ultimate joins Betclic during a strong period for the Polish team. They recently won Stake Pulse Beat I in Stockholm. Betclic defeated Liquid 2-1 in the grand final of the $60,000 LAN.
Liquid had beaten Betclic 2-1 earlier in the tournament. The Polish side recovered and reached the final, where they took revenge and secured the title. The victory also earned Betclic the $20,000 first-place prize.
The organization had already started stabilizing its roster after several changes. Wojciech “Prism” Zięba and Patryk “Demho” Tomaszewski renewed their contracts in July. Now, ultimate fills the AWP position left vacant by hades.
Community welcomes ultimate back to Poland
Polish fans reacted positively to the announcement. Several supporters celebrated ultimate’s return, while others described the signing as a major upgrade for Betclic.
