Valve released a new Counter-Strike 2 update focused on improvements to the demo and replay viewer. The patch adds a download progress bar, changes camera controls and allows free and chase cameras to be used while a demo is paused.
The update also adjusts AUG reload animations to match the shorter reload duration introduced in the previous CS2 patch.
DEMO VIEWER GETS NEW CONTROLS
Several changes were made to the demo and replay interface.
A progress bar is now displayed while demos and replays are being downloaded, giving players a clearer indication of how much of the file remains.
Camera controls have also switched to a click-and-drag scheme. Valve additionally enabled both free camera and chase camera while a demo is paused.
The developers also fixed minor issues that could occur when seeking to a different position in a demo file.
These changes are aimed primarily at players, analysts and content creators who regularly review matches through the in-game replay system.
AUG ANIMATIONS UPDATED AFTER RELOAD CHANGE
Valve also updated the standing and crouching reload animations for the AUG.
The previous CS2 update reduced the reload time of the weapon by half a second. The new animations have now been adjusted to better match that shorter duration.
No additional changes to the AUG damage, accuracy or other weapon characteristics were listed in the latest patch.
ROUND BACKUPS NOW REQUIRE SERVER FLAG
Round backup files received a technical change for server operators.
Servers must now be launched with the -allow_round_backup_files startup flag if they need to use round backup files.
Valve also introduced an explicit list of allowed radio commands and added the toolsskybox_occluder tool material for CS2 Workshop Tools.
The patch ends with stability improvements for the Vulkan renderer.
