Eternal Fire has been eliminated from the Logitech G Play Connect 2026 Closed Qualifier after receiving a forfeit loss instead of playing their scheduled match. The Turkish organization says it was left without support after tournament organizers had promised to help manage a scheduling conflict, but then ruled the team a no-show anyway.
This situation stands out because it did not happen due to a lack of preparation or a roster issue. Instead, it stemmed from two major qualifiers landing on the same days, and, according to Eternal Fire, a broken promise from the organizers who were supposed to help sort things out.
What Led to the Conflict
Eternal Fire had qualified for two closed qualifiers running at the same time: the IEM Beijing 2026 Closed Qualifier and the Logitech G Play Connect 2026 Closed Qualifier. Both events required the team’s presence within a similar window, which created a direct scheduling overlap.
According to Eternal Fire’s public statement, the team built its calendar with the support and agreement of all organizers involved. The club said that when both closed qualifiers ended up scheduled for the same day, Logitech representatives indicated they would provide support for roughly a week while the qualifiers were underway and would wait for the Turkish club if any issue arose.
The Forfeit and Its Consequences
Organizers ruled Eternal Fire a no-show anyway. The team says organizers did this without waiting for further evidence. As a result, Eternal Fire received a technical loss in their Round of 16 playoff match against INFINITE in the Logitech G Play Connect 2026 Closed Qualifier.
The Logitech G Play Connect 2026 bracket has no lower bracket. A single loss therefore meant immediate elimination. Eternal Fire had no chance to play their way back through a losers’ bracket.
Meanwhile, Eternal Fire keeps competing in the IEM Beijing 2026 Closed Qualifier. This is the same event the team was trying to balance against the Logitech G Play Connect schedule. The IEM Beijing qualifier runs from September 2 to September 4, 2026, as a double-elimination bracket. The top two teams from this bracket will earn a spot at the IEM Beijing 2026 main event. Eternal Fire already win MIBR with a score 2:1, and on 17:30 CEST will be facing HEROIC in quarterfinal.
Eternal Fire’s Response
Eternal Fire says it will file appeals with the relevant governing bodies over the ruling. The organization will also keep fans updated through its social media accounts as the situation develops. The team thanked supporters who have stood by the club through the dispute.
