René “TeSeS” Madsen commented on his new role in Falcons. After recent roster changes, the Danish player took on the anchor position and explained why it’s the “right decision” for the team. In a conversation with HLTV, he also shared his thoughts on cooperating with kyousuke, the lessons learned from the Esports World Cup, and Falcons’ goals for FISSURE Playground 2.
FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2: A NEW STAGE FOR FALCONS
Falcons kicked off their run at FISSURE Playground 2 with a confident 2:0 win over Virtus.pro. It was a signal to the whole scene: the team is gradually stepping up after the painful Esports World Cup experience. The LAN tournament brought together Asian and European lineups, and for Falcons, it became a chance to test their strategies and collect valuable VRS points ahead of the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
TESES AND THE NEW ROLE
René “TeSeS” Madsen is known for his versatility — over the years, he has played nearly every role in CS. At Falcons, he now takes anchor spots, often overlooked but crucial in deciding maps. In particular, he is responsible for B-site on Mirage.
When you have such big stars on the roster, it makes sense for me to take anchor positions. This is my new area of responsibility, and I want to give it my all. Over time, I will become a truly reliable player in these roles and make sure the team feels secure, said TeSeS.

WORKING WITH KYOSUKE
One of Falcons’ key challenges was integrating new player Maxim “kyousuke” Lukin. Unlike Magisk, he plays much more aggressively, creating space for teammates.
I enjoy playing alongside people who take initiative. Kyousuke is very easy to work with, and his aggression is easy to support. If he takes a risk, I’m always there to cover him, TeSeS noted.
In this dynamic — kyousuke’s energy and TeSeS’ stability — Falcons see the foundation for future success.
AFTER EWC: LESSONS LEARNED
At the Esports World Cup, Falcons showcased their strength by defeating MOUZ and Vitality but unexpectedly lost to Aurora. TeSeS explained that the main problem was losing control in key economic rounds.
We lost economy because we dropped favorable situations. That cost us the game. Now it’s our main focus — to close out those moments better.
The team even skipped BLAST in order to train more. Against Virtus.pro, Falcons already looked cohesive: every player knew his role and executed it perfectly.
LONG-TERM GOALS

Despite aiming to win, TeSeS is thinking bigger:
In our heads, we always think about trophies, but what’s more important is building team play. This tournament won’t define how we play at the Major. It’s only preparation for something bigger.
Falcons want not only to lift the trophy at FISSURE Playground 2 but also to lay the foundation for bigger wins later in the season.
THE ANCHOR THAT HOLDS THE TEAM
TeSeS has proven he’s a true professional willing to put the team’s interests above personal ambitions. His move to anchor roles, readiness to adapt to new teammates, and composure in tough moments make him a central figure for Falcons.
FISSURE Playground 2 has only just begun, but it’s already clear: if TeSeS maintains his balance between humility and stability, Falcons will have a real chance not only at this tournament but also in the battle for the year’s biggest trophies.
