FISSURE Playground 3 is starting to look like one of the most interesting tournaments of September: the organizers confirmed the first eight invited teams for the event in Suzhou with a $1,000,000 prize pool. The participants already include The MongolZ, FaZe, PARIVISION, Legacy, BetBoom, MIBR, Alliance, and TYLOO, while eight more slots remain open.
First invites to the tournament
The first list of participants immediately looks quite strong. Legacy, BetBoom, PARIVISION, FaZe, The MongolZ, MIBR, Alliance, and TYLOO will travel to Suzhou. For a tournament that previously faced postponements and calendar changes, this is an important signal: the organizers managed to assemble not just a nominal lineup, but teams with real interest for viewers.
The MongolZ, FaZe, and PARIVISION stand out in particular. These are teams capable of making the tournament competitive from the very first matches, not only at the playoff stage. Alongside them, the list is completed by Legacy and BetBoom, who may arrive in China after a very packed schedule, as well as MIBR, Alliance, and TYLOO, for whom FPG 3 will be a chance to gain important points and test themselves against a stronger field.
The tournament moved to Suzhou
FISSURE Playground 3 will take place in Suzhou, although the event was previously planned for Shenzhen. The tournament also changed its numbering: it was initially supposed to be held as FPG 5, but after the cancellation of the third and fourth editions of the series, it was renamed FPG 3. Logistical difficulties were named as the reason for the previous cancellations.
Now the tournament is being organized in partnership with the Chinese operator GGMEDIA. This is important not only from the point of view of the location, but also in terms of trust in the event itself. After several problematic announcements, FISSURE needed to show that the series is still capable of returning to the calendar with a full-fledged tournament, and the invitations for The MongolZ, FaZe, and PARIVISION work exactly toward that.
A packed schedule for some teams
A separate intrigue is connected to the calendar. FISSURE Playground 3 starts on September 8, just two days after the end of BLAST Open Porto. At the same time, Legacy and BetBoom are also listed for the tournament in Porto, so a difficult logistical situation may arise for them.
If one of these teams reaches the final in Porto, they will effectively have only one day left for the flight from Portugal to China and adaptation. For CS2, this is not a small detail: the time zone change, travel, fatigue, and minimal preparation time can directly affect the opening matches in Suzhou.
Why the lineup already looks interesting
The current list matters not only because of the big names. It has a balance between high-status teams, ambitious contenders, and regional representatives. FaZe and The MongolZ add recognition to the tournament, PARIVISION and BetBoom provide a strong European context, MIBR and Legacy bring the South American factor, while TYLOO make the event especially important for the Chinese scene.
Alliance also look interesting on this list, because for teams like them, tournaments of this kind often become an opportunity to sharply increase their own value in the ranking. Given that seven more places are still to be handed out through VRS invites, the final lineup may become even stronger.
What remains to be filled
In total, 16 teams are expected to play in the tournament, so after the first eight invites, half of the bracket still remains. One slot will be decided through the Asia Closed Qualifier, while the organizers must close seven more places through VRS invites.
These final invites are exactly what will determine the real level of FISSURE Playground 3. If several more representatives from the upper part of the ranking are added to the already confirmed teams, the tournament in Suzhou may become not just a regional event with a large prize pool, but a full-fledged test of strength before the autumn part of the season.
