G2 eliminated FURIA from FISSURE Playground 3 on 11 September 2026, winning their quarterfinal matchup 2-0. The Brazilian roster now leaves the tournament earlier than many fans expected.
The result matters for more than just bragging rights. It also shook up the Valve Ranking System standings, as G2 and FURIA effectively swapped positions in the top ten.
Three Maps, One Clear Winner
The series opened on Ancient, G2’s map pick. FURIA started strong and pushed the score close, but G2 pulled ahead in overtime. The final scoreline read 16-14 in G2’s favor, with halves of 7-5 and 5-7 before the extra rounds settled it 2-4.
Dust2 followed as FURIA’s own pick, yet the map turned into a lopsided affair. G2 dominated with a 9-3 first half and then closed out the second half 4-0, finishing the map 13-3. This win gave G2 the series and confirmed FURIA’s elimination.
Because G2 had already secured two map wins, Mirage was never played. The third map remained the leftover pick from the veto phase, but the series ended before it was needed.
HeavyGod Leads G2 to Victory
G2’s Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko was the standout performer of the match. He finished with a 42-25 kill-death record, an ADR of 86.9, and a 3.0 rating of 1.43, the highest mark on either team. His KAST also reached 80.4%, showing consistent impact across both maps. Matúš “MATYS” Šimko and Guy “NertZ” Iluz also posted strong numbers, each finishing above a 1.15 rating.
On FURIA’s side, Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato was the top performer despite the loss, closing with a 1.21 rating and an ADR of 86.9. However, the rest of the roster struggled. Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo finished with the lowest rating of the match at 0.51, alongside a 13-33 kill-death record and a KAST of just 54.3%.

VRS Points Shift After the Result
The match also changed both teams’ positions in the Valve Ranking System. FURIA entered the match with 1,773 points, ranked seventh. The loss cost them 15 points, dropping their total to 1,758 and moving them down one spot to eighth place.
G2, meanwhile, entered with 1,758 points at eighth place. The win added 17 points to their total, bringing them to 1,775 points and lifting them up one spot to seventh place. In effect, the two teams traded ranking positions as a direct result of this match.
What Comes Next for Both Teams
G2’s win sends them into the semifinal of FISSURE Playground 3, where they will face BetBoom Team for a place in the final. Their VRS gain also strengthens their position in the broader Major qualification picture heading into the PGL Singapore Major.
FURIA, on the other hand, exit the tournament in 5th-6th place. The Brazilian roster still walks away with $25,000 in prize money, plus a $40,000 club share. Even so, the quarterfinal exit marks a setback for the team, both in prize standings and in the VRS rankings. Their next challenge will be recovering points before the Major qualification window narrows further, while G2 now turns its full attention to the semifinal showdown with BetBoom Team.
