NAVI have taken an important step in the race for PGL Singapore Major 2026. Following their victory over G2, the team not only improved its position in the qualification race but also entered the Major invite zone in the current standings for the first time.
NAVI moved into the qualification zone
Previously, NAVI’s chances of reaching the Major were estimated to be very high — above 90%. However, those figures came from simulations of possible results before the end of the qualification period. The team still needed to earn VRS points at tournaments to turn a favorable prediction into an actual position in the rankings.
The victory over G2 at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 was one such result. If the current standings were frozen and no team played another match before the deadline, NAVI would now receive an invitation to PGL Singapore Major.
18th place is currently enough for Stage 1
According to the latest calculations, NAVI occupy 18th place among European contenders with 1466 Valve Points. This is the final position within the Stage 1 qualification zone, meaning the team’s margin for error remains minimal.
Immediately above them are B8 with 1484 points, 100 Thieves with 1501, FaZe with 1531, Nemiga with 1545, and 1win with 1555. This means the battle near the bottom of the qualification zone remains extremely close, and even one strong or disappointing tournament could significantly change the standings.
Victory over G2 provided the necessary boost
In their opening match at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, NAVI defeated G2 2:0. For the team, this result is important not only because it secured a place in the 1:0 group but also because of the additional ranking points earned at a time when every victory directly affects the Major qualification race.
It is particularly important that NAVI defeated an opponent positioned significantly higher in the qualification standings. G2 currently occupy a Stage 2 qualification spot, while NAVI are still trying to hold on to the final available Stage 1 position.
High qualification probability is now backed by an actual ranking position
Previously, NAVI’s situation looked somewhat paradoxical: simulations gave the team a very high chance of qualifying, even though they remained outside the invite zone in the current standings. The reason was simple — the model accounted for upcoming tournaments and potential ranking points.
Now, that gap has disappeared, at least temporarily. NAVI are already inside the qualification zone without having to account for future results, significantly reducing their dependence on complicated scenarios at the end of the qualification cycle.
But there is almost no room for error
Despite this positive development, it is still too early to consider NAVI’s Major qualification guaranteed. Their 18th-place position means they occupy the very last spot among European teams that would currently receive an invitation, so competitors below them could still push them out with strong performances.
That is why the upcoming matches at PGL Masters Bucharest will be extremely important for the team. Every additional victory will help create a buffer over their closest challengers and gradually turn their high qualification probability into an effectively guaranteed Major spot.
NAVI finally control their own position
After a long period in which the team relied primarily on favorable simulations, the situation has become considerably more comfortable. Victory over G2 lifted NAVI to 18th place and, as things stand, secured them a Stage 1 slot at PGL Singapore Major 2026.
The main task now is simple — not to surrender that position. NAVI are already where they wanted to be, but with such a narrow margin over their competitors, they still need to keep earning points at PGL Masters Bucharest.
