NRG defeated MOUZ 2:1 in the opening match of StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 and advanced to the Upper Bracket Semi-final. The result is a major upset considering MOUZ entered the event at #3 in the HLTV ranking, while NRG were #50.

Cache remained completely even through the opening half at 6:6. NRG found the small advantage after the side switch, taking seven of the final 12 rounds to close their own pick 13:11.
MOUZ responded immediately on Inferno. They built an 8:4 lead in the first half and allowed NRG only one additional round after the break, winning 13:5 and forcing the series onto Dust2.
The decider started much better for NRG, who went into halftime with an 8:4 advantage. MOUZ managed to reduce the gap after switching sides, but NRG held on in the closing rounds and finished Dust2 13:10 to secure the 2:1 upset.

For NRG, Nick “nitr0” Cannella led the team statistically with 50–45 K–D, 83.6 ADR and a 1.15 Rating 3.0.

The upset produced a major VRS swing for both teams. NRG gained 129 points and climbed 18 positions to #33, while MOUZ dropped two places from #2 to #4.
What’s next?
NRG move into the Upper Bracket Semi-final, where they will continue their run on September 18 at 17:00 CET. Their opponent will be determined by the NAVI vs Aurora opening series. The tournament uses a Double Elimination Bo3 bracket, with only the Grand Final played as a Bo5.
MOUZ drop into Lower Bracket Round 1 and are now one loss away from elimination. Their next series is scheduled for September 18 at 12:00 CET, with the opponent also depending on the NAVI vs Aurora matchup.
NRG entered Barcelona as the lowest-ranked team at the event, but their first match has already produced the biggest upset of StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 so far.
