Esports World Cup 2026 will continue the Playoffs stage with a Round of 16 match between GamerLegion and MOUZ. The teams will play an elimination Bo3: the winner will advance to the Quarter-finals, while the losing team will end its tournament run. MOUZ approach the match as the clear favorite thanks to a much higher position in the world ranking, stronger current form, and an advantage on most key maps, but GamerLegion have already shown at the tournament that they can create problems for opponents.
ESPORTS WORLD CUP 2026 PLAYOFFS — ELIMINATION MATCH
After the group stage, Esports World Cup 2026 moves to the Single Elimination Bracket. GamerLegion and MOUZ begin the playoffs from the Round of 16 in a Bo3 format, where every series becomes decisive. The winner will continue the fight in the Quarter-finals, while the losing team will end its run at the tournament.
The Bo3 format noticeably strengthens MOUZ’s position, as the team has a much wider and more stable map pool. GamerLegion need to make maximum use of their own pick and find a way to limit the opponent’s strong maps, because a long series looks much more comfortable specifically for the favorite.
HEAD-TO-HEAD — ADVANTAGE FOR MOUZ
GamerLegion and MOUZ faced each other in October 2025 at ESL Pro League Season 22. Back then, MOUZ won both maps played: Nuke ended with a 13:3 score, while Overpass finished 13:9.
As a result, according to the available statistics, MOUZ lead 2:0 in maps. At the same time, the teams’ rosters have changed since that meeting, so the old result cannot be considered decisive, although it additionally underlines MOUZ’s advantage in this matchup.
CURRENT FORM
GamerLegion — unstable results, but a confident start in the playoffs
GamerLegion approach the match after an unstable stretch. The team defeated JiJieHao 2:0 and crushed Luminosity 13:3 on Nuke, but before that lost to HOTU 0:2, 9INE 0:2, and Acend 1:2. Because of this, the latest results still do not allow us to speak about stable form for the roster.
Among the notable players remains FL4MUS, who has a 1.09 rating over the last three months. He shows 0.72 kills per round and 75.7 ADR, but to beat MOUZ, GamerLegion will need a strong series from the entire roster — Tauson, REZ, hypex, and Snax must also withstand the favorite’s individual tempo.

MOUZ — strong form and torzsi as the main threat
MOUZ are showing much more convincing results. The team defeated PARIVISION 2:0, Lynn Vision 13:8, Spirit 3:1, Astralis 2:1, and 3DMAX 2:1. The only notable setback in the recent stretch was a 1:2 loss to FUT, but overall, MOUZ continue to play consistently against strong opponents.
The best numbers among the highlighted players belong to torzsi, who has a 1.16 rating over the last three months. He records 0.76 kills per round, has 76.3% KAST, and a +2.28% round swing. Together with Spinx, xertioN, PR, and xelex, he forms a roster that has a noticeable individual advantage over GamerLegion.
MAP POOL & VETO
Statistics over the last 3 months (GamerLegion | MOUZ):
- Cache: — | —
- Dust2: — | 78%
- Mirage: — | 67%
- Inferno: 50% | 50%
- Nuke: 20% | 80%
- Ancient: 43% | 38%
- Anubis: — | —
Expected veto:
- GamerLegion will almost certainly try to remove Dust2 or Nuke. MOUZ have a 78% win rate on Dust2 across nine matches, and on Nuke they have won 80% of ten maps. Nuke looks especially dangerous, as GamerLegion have only a 20% win rate there across five matches.
- MOUZ, in turn, can afford to remove Ancient. This is the only map with a statistical advantage for GamerLegion — 43% wins against MOUZ’s 38%. Such a ban would narrow the underdog’s options even further during the formation of the series.
Likely maps:
- Inferno looks like one of the most even options. Both teams have exactly a 50% win rate: GamerLegion have played four matches on the map, while MOUZ have played six. This is where the underdog may get one of the best chances to impose a competitive fight.
- Mirage may also become an important map in the series, but here the advantage is already clearly on MOUZ’s side. The favorite has a 67% win rate across nine matches, while GamerLegion have barely used the map recently.
KEY DUELS
- FL4MUS vs torzsi — the main individual matchup between one of GamerLegion’s key riflers and MOUZ’s most productive player.
- REZ vs Spinx — a duel of experienced riflers, whose stability will largely determine control of key areas of the map.
- hypex vs xertioN — a matchup capable of influencing the tempo of rounds and the teams’ effectiveness in first contacts.
PREDICTION
GamerLegion have a chance to create problems for the favorite, especially if they get a comfortable own pick and manage to avoid Nuke and Dust2. The 2:0 victory over JiJieHao shows that the team is capable of playing a Bo3 confidently, but the instability of previous results remains a serious problem ahead of a meeting with an opponent of MOUZ’s level.
MOUZ have significantly more arguments in their favor. The team is ranked fifth in the world ranking against GamerLegion’s 24th, shows better current form, and has a huge advantage on Dust2 and Nuke. If the favorite converts its map pool advantage and does not allow GamerLegion to impose their game on the first map, the series may end without a deciding map.
Projected result: GamerLegion 0–2 MOUZ
