Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski revealed that he personally asked GamerLegion coach Adrian “imd” Pieper to start looking for his replacement around a month and a half before he was moved out of the active lineup.

In a statement on X, the Polish veteran said the 2026 season had taken a heavy toll on him and made it increasingly difficult to remain fully focused on professional competition and helping the team.

Snax asked GamerLegion to find a replacement

GamerLegion moved Snax out of the active roster on October 21 before signing Aleksandr “shalfey” Marenov as the new in-game leader.

Snax has now explained that the decision had been developing for several weeks rather than coming suddenly after the recent poor results.

My contract ends in two months, and I feel like this season has really taken a toll on me. It was difficult for me to keep focusing on professional play and helping the guys, so about a month and a half ago I asked Adrian to start looking for someone to replace me.

He added that he would have continued playing until the end of the season if GamerLegion had been unable to find another option.

If it hadn’t worked out, I would have helped finish the season with all the strength I had left, although there wasn’t much fuel left in the tank.

Difficult season and stand-in problems

Snax described the season as difficult, pointing to the number of stand-ins and the overall workload the team had to deal with.

His second spell with GamerLegion began in December 2025. The team reached the semifinals at BLAST Rivals and later finished second at IEM Atlanta, but results declined during the second half of the year.

GamerLegion dropped from ninth in the VRS in June to outside the Major qualification picture following a series of early exits.

Snax also defended imd from criticism over the situation.

I have a lot of respect for him and I know he’s a very good coach, so don’t blame him for the whole situation.

Snax plans to take a break

The 33-year-old did not announce his retirement and said he currently does not know what comes next.

His immediate plan is to step away for a short period after the demanding season.

For now I need a little break, and we’ll see what happens next.

Snax jokingly left both retirement and a competitive return open as possibilities, saying he could either hang up the mouse in the new year or return as a Major MVP.

His current GamerLegion contract is set to expire in approximately two months.
