Lotan “Spinx” Giladi addressed the discussion around MOUZ lacking “aura” and stage presence, admitting that he understands why fans want to see more emotion from the collective. Speaking to Pley ahead of BLAST Open Porto 2026, Spinx said MOUZ would like to change that perception, but their priority remains performing well inside the server.
The comments come during a mixed period for MOUZ. The collective won BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 earlier this month, but followed the title with a 5th–8th place finish at the Esports World Cup after losing to FUT in the quarterfinals.
Spinx understands why fans want more emotion
MOUZ have regularly been criticized by parts of the community for appearing quieter on stage than some of their tier-one rivals. While other players frequently celebrate rounds or interact with opponents and the crowd, MOUZ have generally maintained a more reserved approach.
Spinx said he understands where the criticism comes from because spectators attending arena events are also looking for entertainment.

At the same time, Spinx does not believe MOUZ should force a different personality simply to change public perception. For him, stronger Counter-Strike has to come first.
“First we need to focus on playing good Counter-Strike.”
Spinx also acknowledged that no player wants to be booed constantly, but described it as part of the job. According to him, MOUZ have discussed their stage presence internally several times, although the current priority remains improving the Counter-Strike before trying to add more showmanship.
MOUZ won BLAST Bounty before a difficult EWC finish
The updated MOUZ roster delivered almost immediately after the summer changes. Adrian “xelex” Vincze and Oldřich “PR” Nový joined the starting lineup in place of Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin and Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo, and the new five won BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 in their first event together.
MOUZ defeated Spirit 3:1 in the grand final on August 2. Spinx produced the best individual performance of the series with a 1.54 Rating 3.0, 78–38 K–D and 89.3 ADR. The title was also the first for MOUZ since PGL Cluj-Napoca.
The result also ended a seven-series losing streak against Spirit. After the final, Dorian “xertioN” Berman joked on the broadcast that “nobody beats MOUZ eight times in a row.”
The momentum did not fully carry into the Esports World Cup. MOUZ eventually reached the quarterfinals, where they faced FUT and lost the series 0:2. FUT took Dust2 16:13 after overtime before dominating Ancient 13:5, leaving MOUZ with a 5th–8th place finish.
It was also not the first difficult meeting between the two collectives during the event. FUT had already beaten MOUZ 2:1 in the group stage on August 14, making the playoff loss their second defeat to the same opponent at EWC.
MOUZ now look for consistency in Porto
The contrast between the BLAST Bounty title and the EWC exit gives more context to the comments from Spinx. MOUZ have already shown that the updated roster can win a tier-one trophy, but their results have not yet been completely stable from one event to another.
That makes BLAST Open Porto another important test. The tournament features 16 teams competing from August 26 to September 6 for a combined prize and club-share pool of $1.1 million.
MOUZ enter the event ranked No. 5 in the HLTV world ranking and fourth in VRS with 1,825 points. Their opening opponent is 9z, who sit ninth in VRS with 1,689 points.
MOUZ begin Porto against 9z
MOUZ will face 9z on August 27 in the Group B upper bracket quarterfinal. The match will be played as a Bo3, with the winner advancing to the upper bracket semifinal and guaranteeing at least $5,000 in prize money.
The VRS impact could also be significant for MOUZ. According to the HLTV forecast before the match, a victory could add 38 points and potentially move MOUZ from fourth to third, while a defeat could cost them 19 points.

For Spinx, however, changing the image around MOUZ is still secondary. The collective may want more support and energy around them on stage, but his message before Porto is clear: results and good Counter-Strike have to come first.
