Rumors about a potential move of molodoy to Team Spirit have sparked widespread discussion across the Counter-Strike community. No official source has confirmed the story. However, comments from caster and insider Pedro Brauner quickly turned it into one of the hottest topics of the CS2 offseason.

Pedro Brauner: “I’ve heard molodoy might be moving”

The speculation began after Pedro Brauner said he had heard about a possible transfer from several independent sources. He also stressed that the information should only be treated as a rumor.

Not trying to start a witch hunt here: I’ve heard Molodoy might be moving from a few different people personally, but it’s just a rumor. One I’d hate, for the record. I mentioned this on the podcast too.

Soon after, NarT shared the full podcast episode where they discussed the topic. That only fueled the speculation. Neither Team Spirit nor molodoy has commented on the reports.

Community largely dismisses the possibility

Most reactions on X (formerly Twitter) were skeptical. Many fans questioned why Spirit would consider replacing Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov. They believe he remains one of the world’s best AWPers. Among the most popular responses were:

  • “No way in a million years they would replace their top 5–10 insanely strong and talented player who is a clear top 3 AWPer world.”
  • “The only way this would ever happen is if sh1ro stepped down.”
  • “Spirit doesn’t need a new AWPer.”

Others compared the rumor to similarly unrealistic transfer stories, such as BC.Game trying to sign ZywOo. Some users also accused insiders of spreading rumors simply to generate clicks. Not everyone rejected the idea, though. Several community members pointed out that any top organization would be interested in a player like molodoy.

Who wouldn’t be interested in signing him though, come on.

Some fans added that scouting a player does not automatically mean Spirit plans to replace sh1ro. Teams often monitor talented players without making immediate roster changes.

No confirmation so far

For now, the story remains unconfirmed. Pedro Brauner is the only source behind the rumor, and he admitted that he could not verify it. Team Spirit has not commented either. Because of sh1ro’s importance to the roster, many fans believe such a move is highly unlikely. Even so, the discussion has become one of the biggest talking points of the offseason. Fans will continue watching closely for any official update on molodoy’s future or Team Spirit’s roster plans.
