Vitality Beat Lynn Vision to Reach EWC 2026 Playoffs

Vitality delivered a commanding 2-0 win over Lynn Vision in the Esports World Cup 2026 Group C lower-bracket semi-final. The European team gave their opponents very little room across two maps and booked their place in the playoffs.

The match was a do-or-die battle for the next stage. Therefore, Vitality entered the server needing a response after dropping into the lower bracket, while Lynn Vision had one final chance to continue their EWC campaign.

Dust2 Sets the Tone

Before the match, Lynn Vision removed Mirage and Vitality banned Ancient. Lynn Vision then chose Dust2, while Vitality selected Inferno. Nuke and Cache were removed, leaving Anubis as the potential third map.

Lynn Vision selected Dust2, but Vitality quickly took control of the map. Vitality won 13-2 and left the Chinese team unable to establish momentum.

The second map was Inferno, Vitality’s pick. Lynn Vision showed more resistance than on Dust2, but Vitality again dictated the pace and secured a 13-5 victory to complete the series. As a result, the planned decider on Anubis was not required.

ZywOo Produces a Huge Series

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was Vitality’s leading performer. He finished the two-map series with 40 kills and 17 deaths, a 140.0 ADR, a 90.9% KAST and a 2.17 Rating.

William “mezii” Merriman supported him with 28 kills and a 1.47 rating. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan and Robin “ropz” Kool also made a strong impact, recording ratings of 1.46 each.

Meanwhile, Lynn Vision struggled to match Vitality’s level throughout the series. junjie “EmiliaQAQ” Tang was the team’s highest-rated player with a 0.67 rating.

Vitality Advance, Lynn Vision Exit

The win sends Vitality into the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs from Group C. In addition, the result moved Vitality from seventh to sixth in the VRS ranking, adding 28 points to their total.

For Lynn Vision, the defeat marks the end of their tournament run. The team finished in 17th–24th place and earned $20,000 in prize money.

Vitality, however, turned a decisive lower-bracket match into a clear statement. The 13-2 result on Dust2 and 13-5 win on Inferno showed their control in a series where a playoff berth was at stake. With ZywOo leading the way, Vitality now move forward to the EWC 2026 playoffs.
