Dorian “xertioN” Berman has won the HLTV MVP award at IEM Beijing 2026. The MOUZ captain finished the event with a 1.28 Rating and led his team through a flawless tournament. This is the first MVP title of his career.
The award was far from a sure thing. His teammate Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás had a higher rating over the whole event. In the end, a strong playoff run tipped the vote in xertioN’s favor.
A Close Race Inside MOUZ
The MVP race was a battle between two MOUZ players. Torzsi built a big lead with steady results from the first match. The Hungarian AWPer finished the tournament with a 1.33 rating. However, his form dipped on the very last map. In addition, he did not reach the same peaks as his captain in the playoffs, where he averaged 1.20.
Meanwhile, xertioN started more quietly but grew stronger as the event went on. He still gave MOUZ useful results in the group stage. As a result, he stayed close enough to torzsi to challenge for the award.
The Numbers Behind the MVP Title
The final gap was small: 1.28 for xertioN against 1.33 for torzsi. However, xertioN’s playoff form changed the picture. Against BETBOOM and The MongolZ, he averaged a 1.53 rating and hit several high peaks.
xertioN’s tournament statistics:
- Rating 3.0: 1.28
- Kills per round: 0.79
- K/D ratio: 1.30
- ADR: 92.3
- Round Swing: +1.73%
- Impact: 46.8%
xertioN Led MOUZ in the Grand Final
MOUZ beat The MongolZ 3:0 in the Grand Final. xertioN was the team’s highest-rated player, and his best map was Mirage, where he went 23–10 with a 1.92 rating.
His Grand Final statistics:
- Rating 3.0: 1.44
- K–D: 47–32
- ADR: 98.1
- KAST: 85.2%
- Round Swing: +2.69%
How He Played in Earlier Matches
Earlier in the event, xertioN had mostly strong results. Against TYLOO, he scored 1.13 on Nuke and 1.34 on Inferno. Against PARIVISION, he posted 1.11 on Mirage and 0.97 on Ancient.
His series against BETBOOM brought both his best and his worst maps. He had a tournament-best 2.02 rating on Ancient, going 21–11 in a 13:7 win. However, he also had a 0.81 rating on another Ancient map, his lowest of the event.
First In-Game Leader MVP Since 2022
The award also marks a milestone for in-game leaders. XertioN is the first IGL to win the top individual award at a Big Event since IEM Rio Major 2022. At that tournament, Dzhami “Jame” Ali received the honor.
Why This MVP Title Matters
In short, xertioN won the award because he played his best when the matches mattered most. His 1.53 playoff rating outweighed torzsi’s small lead in the overall standings. Therefore, the MVP title rewards late-tournament impact over a consistent start.
For MOUZ, the award is a fitting finish to a flawless event. It also shows that a captain can lead a team and still be its top performer. At IEM Beijing 2026, xertioN did both.
