XSE has officially cancelled XPL Luoyang 2026. The $50,000 tournament was scheduled to run from October 29 to November 1, 2026, at the Luoyang Sports Center Gymnasium.
The timing makes this cancellation notable. The event was set to take place just before the Singapore Major invite cut-off. As a result, teams lose one of their final chances to build momentum ahead of that deadline.
A Provincial Sports Festival Caused the Conflict
According to the Luoyang local government sports bureau, the “10th Traditional Sports Games of Ethnic Minorities of Henan Province” was originally scheduled for October 16 to 20, 2026. However, that event was postponed on short notice. This postponement created a direct scheduling conflict with the venue booked for XPL Luoyang.
XSE Searched for Alternatives Before Cancelling
Once the conflict emerged, the XPL event team activated contingency plans. They coordinated closely with local authorities and inspected alternative venues in Luoyang. The goal was to keep the event on schedule.
Despite these efforts, none of the alternative venues met the required competition standards or spectator facility requirements. Therefore, maintaining the quality expected of a professional international LAN event was not possible. After careful deliberation, XSE decided to cancel the tournament.
VRS Points Unaffected, Refunds Coming Soon
XSE confirmed that the cancellation will not affect the participating teams’ VRS points. In addition, all registration fees will be refunded in full as soon as possible. The XSE team is communicating directly with every participating team about these next steps.
According to XSE, Future Events in Luoyang Remain Possible
According to XSE’s announcement, dated September 26, 2026, the organization will continue coordinating with the Luoyang Sports Bureau. This ongoing dialogue is meant to support future XPL tournaments in the city.
XSE also apologized for the inconvenience caused to players, spectators, and partners. The organization thanked the community for its understanding and continued support. For teams eyeing the Singapore Major, however, the loss of this event still removes a meaningful opportunity heading into the final stretch before the invite deadline.
