Valve has rolled out a massive 6.5 GB patch for Counter-Strike 2 on October 2, 2025, packed with community maps, innovative Armory content, gameplay refinements, and major enhancements for creators.

Community Maps

Another wave of community creativity has arrived:

  • Golden and Palacio are now available in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch.
  • Rooftop and Transit join Wingman, including a unique moving train fight in Transit.
  • To make room, Jura, Grail, Dogtown, and Brewery have been removed from all modes.

Armory Updates

The Armory item store has refreshed its lineup with several new additions:

    • Dr. Boom Charms: grenade-shaped charms for your weapons — flashy but non-lethal.
    • Missing Link Community Charms: 23 charms created by CS2 Workshop artists.

Gameplay Adjustments

  • Deaths caused by C4 detonation are now tracked in the scoreboard.
  • Zeus-x27 kill streak bonus restricted in Deathmatch.
  • AWP scope update: fixed pixel offset issues and added visible inaccuracy tracking.
  • New Game Setting: Sniper Inaccuracy can be toggled via cl_sniper_show_inaccuracy 0/1.
  • Keychains now slightly jolt when a player’s footsteps make audible noise.

Spectator Improvements

  • Added smooth camera transitions on selected maps, guiding along the shortest path between players.
  • Spectator loadouts now auto-close at match end.
  • Gloves now display their exact wear and pattern in spectator view.

Miscellaneous and Maps

  • Small adjustments to MAC-10 and R8 Revolver skins.
  • Fixed crashes caused by missing bullet impact effects.
  • Ancient and Shoots received clipping fixes.

Workshop and Scripting Tools

  • Hammer Editor now supports lattice and bend deformers, improving map customization.
  • Improved error handling for scripting functions.
  • New callbacks introduced, such as OnPlayerDamage, OnGrenadeBounce, OnGunReload, OnKnifeAttack, and more.
  • Expanded weapon and entity APIs, giving creators more control (TakeDamage, GetRange, GetPenetration, etc.).

This October 2 update not only refreshes the competitive pool and gameplay balance but also demonstrates Valve’s ongoing commitment to community-driven content — from sausage charms to powerful new Workshop scripting tools.
