In this video, Anders Blume introduces a new way of analyzing Counter-Strike teams — focusing on their tactical identity rather than just individual players. He explains that most analysis revolves around star players and roles (like donk in Spirit or ZywOo in Vitality), but rarely explores how teams actually play the game. His goal is to break down and compare the tactical profiles of top teams, using Overpass as the main example.
He then compares Team Vitality, FURIA, and Team Spirit through stats and playbook data. Vitality stand out as a structured team: they favor slower T-sides, rely heavily on mid-round decisions, and consistently reach bombsites — especially B. FURIA, on the other hand, play more aggressively with frequent rushes and short executions but often fail to reach a site. Spirit share some similarities with FURIA but lean more on individual impact, particularly from donk, while showing less consistency overall.
In conclusion, Anders highlights that deeper elements like bombsite tendencies, utility usage, and CT-side aggression (such as boosts or pushes) define a team’s true identity. For example, Vitality’s frequent boosts and controlled map play clearly separate them from others. He argues that this kind of tactical breakdown offers a much richer understanding of CS than simply focusing on players — revealing how teams actually win rounds and differ from each other.
