The first day of Logitech G Play Connect 2026 delivered every single Group A match, and the results already shape the road to the title. B8 finished the day unbeaten, while Luminosity and M80 also punched their tickets to the playoffs.
This matters because three teams are already out of the tournament. GamerLegion, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Metizport all fell short in Group A, and their run at Play Connect 2026 has ended. Meanwhile, the surviving trio now knows exactly where they stand heading into the playoff bracket.
Setting the Stage
Logitech G Play Connect 2026 split its field into groups, with Group A wrapping up its entire schedule on September 17, 2026. Six teams competed in a round-robin format: B8, Luminosity, M80, GamerLegion, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Metizport. Every team played five matches, and the results determined both playoff qualification and prize money for the teams eliminated early.
Group A Results and Final Standings
B8 posted a perfect 5-0 record on the day. The team opened with a 13-9 win over M80, followed with a 13-6 victory against GamerLegion, then edged Luminosity 13-11 in a close series. B8 continued the run with a 13-9 win over Ninjas in Pyjamas and closed the group stage with a 13-8 result against Metizport. As a result, B8 finished first with a round difference of +22 and 15 points.
Luminosity secured second place with a 3-2 record. The team beat Ninjas in Pyjamas 13-11 and dominated M80 13-4, then also defeated GamerLegion 13-7 and Metizport 13-9. However, Luminosity dropped a match to B8, falling 11-13. Luminosity finished with a round difference of +7 and 9 points.
M80 took third place, also with a 3-2 record. The team lost 9-13 to B8 early on, then bounced back with a 13-9 win over Metizport. M80 later defeated GamerLegion 13-9 and edged past Ninjas in Pyjamas 16-14 in a tight final match. Despite the strong finish, M80 fell to Luminosity 4-13, ending the day with a round difference of -3 and 9 points.
GamerLegion finished fourth with a 2-3 record. The team’s wins came against Metizport (13-5) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (13-8). GamerLegion lost to M80, B8, and Luminosity, ending the group stage with a round difference of -8 and 6 points.
Ninjas in Pyjamas placed fifth with a 1-4 record. Their only win came against Metizport in a 13-8 result. Every other match ended in a loss, leaving Ninjas in Pyjamas with a round difference of -8 and 3 points.
Metizport finished sixth with a 1-4 record as well. The team’s single win came against GamerLegion, 13-5. Metizport lost the remaining four matches and closed the group with a round difference of -10 and 3 points.

Playoff Picture Takes Shape
Because B8 finished first in Group A, the team advances directly to the semifinals, where it will face the winner of the quarterfinal between Group B’s first-place team and the winner of the Luminosity match. Luminosity, as Group A’s second-place finisher, moves into the quarterfinals to face Group B’s third-place team. M80, finishing third in Group A, also enters the quarterfinals, where it will meet Group B’s second-place team. Therefore, the semifinal and grand final matchups now depend on how Group B’s standings finalize.

Eliminated Teams Walk Away with Prize Money
GamerLegion, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Metizport are all out of Logitech G Play Connect 2026 after finishing at the bottom of Group A. GamerLegion placed 7th-8th and earned $1,750. Ninjas in Pyjamas finished 9th-10th, also taking home $1,750. Metizport rounded out the group in 11th-12th place, earning the same $1,750 payout.
Why This Matters Going Forward
Day 1 of Logitech G Play Connect 2026 already narrowed the field significantly. B8’s unbeaten run puts the team in a strong position heading into the semifinals, while Luminosity and M80 still have work to do in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, GamerLegion, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Metizport now turn their attention elsewhere after an early exit. With Group B’s results still to come, the full playoff bracket will soon be set, and the path to the grand final will become clear.
