B8 kept their hopes of qualifying for PGL Singapore Major alive after an extremely hard-fought victory over Alliance at RLG Tesla Cup 2026. The Ukrainian team lost the opening map and found themselves in a difficult position on the second, but managed to turn the series around and secure a 2:1 victory.

B8 were one step away from disaster

The series started poorly for B8. Alliance took their pick of Inferno 13:10, after which the Swedish roster also built a significant advantage on Mirage. B8 were trailing 3:8, and a defeat in this match would have practically ended their hopes of securing a Major invitation.

However, the Ukrainians managed to turn the second map around and won Mirage 13:9. On the deciding Ancient, the situation remained tense until the final rounds, but B8 held on to their advantage and closed out the map 13:10, completing the comeback in the series.

Defeat would have practically ended B8’s Major hopes

The stakes in this match were much higher than simply staying alive at RLG Tesla Cup. Had B8 lost, their chances of qualifying for the Major would have dropped below 1%, effectively leaving the team without a realistic qualification scenario.

The victory over Alliance dramatically changed the situation. B8’s estimated probability of qualifying for the Singapore Major now stands at 47.9%, putting the team firmly back in contention for one of the available spots.

s1zzi was B8’s best player

s1zzi delivered the best statistics among the winners. Across three maps, he finished the series with a 51-42 K-D record, 73.2 ADR, and a Rating 3.0 of 1.16, becoming B8’s top-performing player in the match.

For Alliance, bobeksde delivered the strongest performance, recording 54 kills and 46 deaths and finishing the match with a 1.15 rating. However, the Swedes’ individual advantage was not enough to capitalize on their strong start to the series and close out the match after winning Inferno.

B8 now need a top-three finish

One victory over Alliance is still not enough to put B8 in a comfortable position. According to the latest calculations, finishing at least in the top three at RLG Tesla Cup would increase their Major qualification chances to approximately 72%, making their situation considerably more stable.

Therefore, the next match against K27 will effectively be another must-win for the Ukrainians. B8 have already survived one critical moment in Belgrade, but to complete their comeback in the race for the Singapore Major, they need to keep winning.

The race for the Major continues

The victory over Alliance not only allowed B8 to continue their RLG Tesla Cup campaign but also earned them valuable ranking points. Following the match, the team gained an additional 27 points, while Alliance lost 10.

Most importantly for B8, they have kept a qualification path within their own control. Another defeat could once again seriously damage their position, but after coming back from 0:1 in maps and a 3:8 deficit, the Ukrainian team still has a realistic chance of finishing the tournament with a result sufficient to secure a trip to Singapore.
