Michael “chelleos” Hawkins has announced that he is no longer playing for Sashi. He left the Danish organization after only two days on its roster.
This story is interesting because the move ended almost as soon as it began. As a result, Sashi now has a changed lineup just before a busy run of events.
How the Short Stay Began
The 26-year-old, formerly of Rooster, joined Sashi on Thursday. His arrival brought the Oceanic contingent on the team to three players. Earlier, Sashi had signed the Australian pair Tynan “TjP” Purtell and Jordan “Hatz” Bajic.
To make room for chelleos, the team benched Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand, a source told HLTV. In addition, Sashi still have an Asian core, because Anton “Anlelele” Huynh now plays under a Vietnamese flag. However, the team will need three months for the region change to come into effect, unless Valve grants an exception.
What chelleos Said and What Happens Next
chelleos shared the news on X. He wrote that Sashi “didn’t work out” for him, and he added that he did not sign a contract with the organization. He also asked whether anyone needs an AWPer and in-game leader, or whether he will play the Australian LANs.
His full post read: “Sashi didn’t work out for me. BOL Anyone need awp igl or am I playing these aus lans ? no contract signed”
Meanwhile, Sashi have been practicing with acoR, who was benched when chelleos arrived. The team currently consists of Tynan “TjP” Purtell, Jordan “Hatz” Bajic, Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss and Anton “Anlelele” Huynh. Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen is the coach, and acoR remains benched.
The schedule is already full. TjP’s team will compete at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm next week. They will also attend DraculaN Season 7. In addition, they have signed up for two overlapping LANs, HyperX Retake Season 13 and NSTLGA Texas Open.
Why This Matters for Sashi
The quick split matters because Sashi must now prepare for several events with a roster that is still unsettled. They need to deal with the overlapping LAN registrations and the pending region change for Anlelele. For now, the lineup for Stockholm and the other tournaments depends on how the team resolves these questions.
