Envy have teased a return to Counter-Strike 2 after publishing a video on X with the caption “The bomb has been planted.” The organization has not announced a roster yet, but recent reports indicate that Envy are preparing to acquire the current 3DMAX lineup.
A return would bring one of the most recognizable names from the early CS era back to Counter-Strike more than five years after Envy put the division on hold.

Envy reportedly set to acquire 3DMAX
According to Sheep Esports sources, Envy are set to acquire the current 3DMAX roster and the VRS points attached to the lineup. Neither Envy nor 3DMAX have officially confirmed the transfer, so the deal remains reported for now.
The current 3DMAX lineup consists of:
- Bryan “Maka” Canda
- Lucas “Lucky” Chastang
- Filip “Graviti” Brankovic
- Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier
- Jeremy “Kursy” Gast
The five-player lineup has been together since July 2026 following the addition of Kursy.
The reported deal would also reconnect Envy with the scene that produced the most successful period in the history of the organization in Counter-Strike.
Envy became Major champions in 2015
Envy entered CS in February 2015 by signing the former LDLC lineup featuring Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, Richard “shox” Papillon, Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey, Vincent “Happy” Schopenhauer and Edouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux.
The organization quickly established itself at the top level. Envy reached the Grand Final of ESL One Cologne 2015, where they finished second behind fnatic.
Their biggest title followed later that year at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015. By then, Kenny “kennyS” Schrub and Dan “apEX” Madesclaire had joined the lineup. Envy defeated NAVI 2:0 in the Grand Final, winning Train 16:14 and Cobblestone 16:5 to become Major champions.
The same 2015 run also included victories at IEM Gamescom, DreamHack Open London and Gfinity Champion of Champions.
Envy later added another major LAN title at the WESG 2016 World Finals, defeating Kinguin 2:0 in the final and earning the $800,000 first-place prize.
More than five years away from Counter-Strike
The organization eventually moved away from the lineup that delivered its biggest achievements and later fielded several different rosters.
In January 2021, Envy placed the entire active CS roster on the transfer list before announcing that the team had been disbanded and the division would be put on hold.
Envy have not yet confirmed that the 3DMAX lineup will represent the organization. However, the new Counter-Strike-themed teaser comes only days after the report from Sheep Esports, providing the clearest official indication so far that a return is approaching.
