FACEIT players will soon stop picking their own servers. Season 10 introduces automatic server matching, and the platform will choose the best location for every match.
This is interesting because server choice has always been a personal decision for FACEIT players. Now the system takes over, and it will use connection data to decide.
A New Season With a Competitive Focus
Season 10 launches on December 9, 2026. Season 9 ends on Tuesday, December 8, at 17:00 CET, and the new season starts on Wednesday, December 9, at 13:00 CET. FACEIT says the update doubles down on the competitive nature of the platform. Besides the server changes, it promises a revamped interface and a new team experience.
Beta Test Is Already Live
Players can join the beta manually in the matchmaking settings. In addition, they can opt out at any time before the full launch. The feature will go live with Season 10, which starts on December 9, 2026.

How Automatic Server Matching Works
The main change is that players no longer select servers by hand. FACEIT will rate each location using the live and historical ping, jitter and packet loss of you and your party. This rating is called the connection score.
The platform will also remove the worst servers on its own. The rest will be sorted from the worst to the best option for your team. However, the connection score is not the only factor. FACEIT will also consider match balance and queue times before it picks the final server.
Players do not lose control completely. Your party keeps one ban, so your team can still veto a single server.
Soft Elo Reset and Placement Matches
Season 10 also begins with a soft Elo reset. The higher your Elo, the more it moves. FACEIT says this helps manage inflation at the top and keeps the highest levels competitive. Most players will see a smaller adjustment, and staying active during the season makes it smaller still.
After the reset, placement matches decide where you start. As a result, players also get a faster path to climb higher.
What Comes Next
FACEIT will reveal more details one at a time through November. The order starts with servers, then team play and the platform. Everything goes live on December 9.
In short, automatic server matching is the biggest change to how FACEIT matches are set up. If the connection score works as described, players could get more stable games without touching the server list. Meanwhile, the soft Elo reset gives everyone a fresh start for the new season.
