Falcons have announced that they are pausing their academy squad, Falcons Force. As a result, the team will now explore its options on the open market.
This news is interesting because Falcons Force was more than a development project. One of its players stepped in for the main roster at two big events, so the pause also ends a useful link between the academy and the first team.
How Falcons Force Started
Falcons formed the academy team in September 2025. Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen led the project as head coach. From the start, the squad worked inside the organization’s academy pipeline.
Falcons Explain the Decision
In an official statement dated November 3, 2026, Falcons said the team will have space to explore its options on the open market. In addition, the organization thanked the roster for its dedication and hard work while representing the club.
Falcons also said the players showed real hunger to improve during their time with the academy. According to the statement, they kept working through their mistakes and built the groundwork they needed. The organization added that it was excited to root for the players in the next stage of their competitive journeys.
Meanwhile, Falcons asked anyone with roster or contract inquiries to contact the organization directly.
The Final Falcons Force Lineup
The last Falcons Force roster included Vladimir “VENO” Stankovic, Andrei “grecu” Grecu, Oskar “clockzi” Led Blæsbjerg, Matej “NucleonZ” Trajkoski and Sindre “Tapewaare” Ellefsen. Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen served as coach.
Among these players, NucleonZ was the standout name because of his work with the main team. He stood in for Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin at the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 Finals in Malta, where Lukin missed the event due to visa issues. With NucleonZ in the lineup, Falcons finished as runners-up.
Two months later, he replaced the Russian player again. This time, it happened in the team’s opening match at BLAST Open Rotterdam against NRG.
What the Pause Means
Falcons have paused Falcons Force, and the players and coach are now free to look for new opportunities. The academy gave the main team a ready backup at important events, and NucleonZ showed that value twice. For now, the future of the academy squad rests on what the players and their coach find on the open market.
