FaZe and B8 both secured critical victories in the Group A lower bracket at IEM Atlanta 2026, keeping their tournament runs alive and pushing their opponents to elimination. While FaZe comfortably dismantled NRG in a clean 2-0 series, B8 delivered a far more controlled performance than expected against BC.Game to secure another important LAN victory.
Road through the tournament
FaZe entered the lower bracket after suffering a painful 0-2 defeat against paiN in their opening series of IEM Atlanta 2026. The victory over NRG now keeps the international roster alive in the tournament and gives them momentum heading into the next elimination match.
NRG, meanwhile, started their Atlanta campaign with a loss against FUT before falling to FaZe today, ending their run with an 0-2 record.
B8 also found themselves under pressure after losing 1-2 against BetBoom in the opening round. However, the Ukrainian squad immediately recovered with a strong win over BC.Game and now move forward with a 1-1 record.
BC.Game opened the event with a difficult loss against Vitality before suffering another defeat today against B8, eliminating the roster from the tournament with a 0-2 scoreline.
FaZe overpower NRG with dominant CT sides
FaZe looked far sharper throughout the entire series against NRG, winning Ancient 13-3 before closing Nuke 13-11. The European squad controlled the pace from the opening pistol rounds and never truly allowed NRG to establish momentum on either map.
Ancient quickly became one-sided. frozen completely dominated the server with aggressive rifle openings and constant mid control, while broky repeatedly shut down late-round executes with the AWP. NRG struggled heavily to find entries and finished the map with only three rounds on their own pick.
Nuke looked more competitive early on, but FaZe once again proved significantly cleaner in key rounds. Twistzz and frozen constantly punished rotations around yard and ramp, while NRG repeatedly lost crucial post-plants that could have shifted the momentum of the game. Despite several strong rounds from br0, FaZe comfortably closed the map 13-11 to secure the sweep.

frozen leads FaZe recovery

David “frozen” Čerňanský delivered one of his strongest performances of the tournament so far. The Slovak rifler finished the series with a dominant 1.62 rating, 103.7 ADR and several multi-kill rounds that completely broke NRG’s economy.
Twistzz also looked far more comfortable compared to FaZe’s previous matches, ending the series with a 1.31 rating, while broky provided stable impact across both maps. For NRG, br0 remained the only consistently dangerous player throughout the match, but the North American squad simply could not match FaZe’s structure in mid and late rounds.
B8 shut down BC.Game to stay alive
In the second featured lower-bracket match, B8 defeated BC.Game 2-0 and secured survival at IEM Atlanta 2026. The Ukrainian squad looked highly disciplined across both maps, winning Overpass 13-2 before closing Mirage 13-11.
The series started with complete domination from B8 on Overpass. BC.Game looked completely unprepared for B8’s aggressive CT setups, repeatedly losing opening duels around connector and A-site control. B8 quickly built an overwhelming lead and closed the map without allowing BC.Game any realistic comeback opportunity.
Mirage became far more competitive, especially after s1mple and electroNic found impact in mid-round situations. However, B8 consistently looked calmer during clutch situations and managed to edge out key late rounds to secure the 2-0 victory.

kensizor powers B8 to victory

Artem “kensizor” Kapran became the key player of the series for B8. The Ukrainian rifler finished with a 1.39 rating and 96.2 ADR while constantly finding opening kills and anchoring critical defensive rounds.
esenthial and s1z1 also delivered stable performances throughout the match, while npl continued showing strong individual form in important late-round situations. For BC.Game, s1mple struggled to make his usual impact and finished the series with a 0.74 rating, while the roster overall failed to respond to B8’s aggressive tempo.
VRS impact
The results also brought several important changes to the Valve Regional Standings:
- FaZe: +35 points → remain #22
- B8: +5 points → remain #19
- NRG: -10 points → remain #37
- BC.Game: -2 points → remain #96
With the lower bracket becoming increasingly brutal, every remaining match in Atlanta now carries major importance for both playoff qualification and future VRS positioning.
s1mple reacts after elimination
Following BC.Game’s elimination from IEM Atlanta 2026, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev shared a frustrated message on social media, openly criticizing the team’s performance and preparation during the event. According to s1mple, the roster failed to properly follow the game plan despite having multiple practice days before the tournament:
Hard to play when gameplan isn’t followed from the start, even tho we had 5 practice day with this lineup that’s unacceptable.
The Ukrainian superstar also thanked fans for their support after the disappointing 0-2 exit, while his comments quickly sparked discussion across the CS2 community regarding BC.Game’s structure and long-term future with the current lineup.

What comes next at IEM Atlanta 2026
FaZe now continue their lower-bracket survival run with renewed confidence after a much cleaner performance than their opening loss against paiN, while B8 once again prove they can compete under elimination pressure on LAN. At the same time, NRG and BC.Game leave Atlanta without a single series victory, raising further questions about their long-term consistency against stronger international opposition. As the tournament progresses deeper into the elimination stage, every upcoming match could dramatically influence both playoff dreams and the increasingly important VRS race.
