The Five-Seven resulted in at least one kill in 44% of analyzed eco rounds compared to 39% for the Desert Eagle, according to data shared on Reddit from FACEIT Level 10 matches during Season 9. The study covers more than six million eco rounds and shows that the Five-Seven produced a higher kill frequency despite being used much less often.

The Deagle appeared in roughly 4.2 million rounds in the dataset, compared to 1.8 million for the Five-Seven. The comparison quickly sparked discussion among CS2 players, with some suggesting that more players are starting to recognize how effective the Five-Seven can be.

Five-Seven recorded kills in 44% of eco rounds

The comparison between the two popular eco pistols showed:

  • Deagle — 4.2 million rounds used, 39% of rounds with a kill
  • Five-Seven — 1.8 million rounds used, 44% of rounds with a kill

The Five-Seven therefore finished five percentage points ahead in rounds where the weapon produced at least one kill. The difference is notable considering the Deagle appeared in more than twice as many rounds in the sample.

The statistic does not mean the Five-Seven is automatically the better pistol. The weapons are used in different situations, and the data only measures whether a kill occurred during a round rather than the overall value of each purchase.

Players compare the Five-Seven to the old Krieg trend

The numbers created a wider discussion on Reddit about the current strength of the Five-Seven. Some players compared its growing reputation to the “Krieg treatment,” referring to periods in Counter-Strike when a weapon was available for a long time before the wider player base began taking full advantage of it.

Players particularly pointed to the Five-Seven performance at close range, where its fire rate and damage can make it dangerous during CT eco rounds.

The Deagle still remains considerably more popular. Beyond being available to both sides, it offers the possibility of one-shot headshots at ranges where the Five-Seven is generally less attractive.

CT-only availability affects the comparison

One important difference between the two samples is that the Five-Seven is only available to CT players, while the Deagle can be purchased on both CT and T sides.

That can influence both usage numbers and the situations in which each pistol is played. CT players can choose the Five-Seven while holding close defensive positions, whereas the Deagle sample also includes T-side eco rounds where players may need to take more difficult fights while attacking bombsites.

For that reason, the 44% versus 39% result should not be viewed as direct proof that one pistol is universally stronger. What the Season 9 data does show is that in more than six million analyzed FACEIT Level 10 eco rounds, the less frequently purchased Five-Seven produced at least one kill more often than the Deagle.
