GamerLegion have secured their place in the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs after defeating JiJieHao 2-0 in the Group A upper-bracket semifinal. The European squad dominated Dust2 13-3 before closing Ancient 13-8, extending their perfect start to the tournament without dropping a map.
GamerLegion take control from the start

The series opened on Dust2, JiJieHao’s map pick, but GamerLegion immediately took control. They produced a dominant first half to establish a 10-2 advantage and gave their opponents almost no opportunity to recover.
After the break, GamerLegion quickly converted their lead. JiJieHao managed only one additional round before the Europeans closed the map 13-3.
Ancient was more competitive. GamerLegion entered the second half with a narrow 7-5 lead, but they gradually pulled away after the side switch. JiJieHao struggled to maintain their momentum, allowing GamerLegion to secure a 13-8 victory and complete the 2-0 sweep.
GamerLegion continue perfect EWC start

The victory follows another convincing performance from GamerLegion in their opening match. They began the tournament by defeating Luminosity 13-3 on Nuke and have now won three consecutive maps while conceding just 14 rounds.
JiJieHao entered the series after producing one of the biggest surprises of the opening round. They defeated Spirit 13-10 on Mirage, but were unable to repeat that performance against GamerLegion.
Despite the loss, JiJieHao remain alive in the tournament and will continue their campaign in the lower part of the group.
Tauson leads the way
Sebastian “Tauson” Tauson Lindelof was the standout player for GamerLegion, finishing the series with a 1.66 rating, 96.6 ADR, and a 30-15 K-D record. Timur “FL4MUS” Marev also played an important role with a 1.35 rating and a team-high 99.8 ADR. GamerLegion highlighted Tauson’s performance after the match, naming him their MVP against JiJieHao.
VRS impact
The result gave GamerLegion 38 VRS points, moving them from 22nd to 21st place in the Valve Regional Standings. JiJieHao lost 10 points and dropped from 32nd to 35th.
JiJieHao react to the defeat

JiJieHao acknowledged the loss on social media but emphasized that their tournament run is not over.
We fall 0-2 to GamerLegion. GGWP. But we’re not done yet.
The team also confirmed that its next match will be played on Saturday against Aurora or M80, where another playoff opportunity will be on the line.
What’s next?
GamerLegion advance directly to the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs after winning both of their opening matches without dropping a map. JiJieHao, meanwhile, move into another group-stage match as they look to recover and keep their EWC campaign alive.
