HEROIC assistant coach killazoo has criticized Valve for having no rules on how many matches teams play per day. His team spent 16 hours at DraculaN, finished at 2:00 AM, and then left the tournament.
This matters because teams are now fighting for the last slots at the PGL Singapore Major 2026 under these conditions. As a result, players are asking for clear limits.
What Happened at DraculaN
DraculaN is a LAN tournament in Romania. In the playoffs, some teams had to play three BO3 matches in one day. HEROIC were one of them.
Their day started with a team walk at 10:00. The first BO3 began at 13:00 and the second at 17:20. The third, against FaZe, started at 23:10. However, the organizers planned three BO3 matches only for the second day of the playoffs. After that, teams will play no more than two matches per day.
Meanwhile, the problem is not limited to this event. At FRAG tournaments in America, some teams reportedly play up to six matches in one day.
Killazoo’s Reaction
Killazoo wrote that three BO3 matches in a day “should NOT be a thing in VRS Tournament, even more on LANs.” He also said he would “love some rules from Valve around this for players sake.”
At the same time, he did not blame the organizers. “There is no rules around it, that’s the issue,” he wrote. His proposal is simple: VRS tournaments should have “at max 2 bo3s a day (or 6 possible maps if there are bo1s I guess).”
Graham Pitt, head of the CS division at 100 Thieves, replied that players can skip events if they dislike the format. Killazoo answered that the schedule suited HEROIC because of the calendar and the upcoming IEM Beijing. He added that he was not using this as an excuse, since the better team won.
Pitt then said organizers dislike long days too and pass feedback to Valve. According to him, Valve said in 2024 that it had no plans for minimum event standards. In addition, Pitt noted that if one team skips an event, its competitors will still play. Killazoo later apologized for his harsh tone and agreed that skipping an event is not easy.
Why It Matters
Teams need VRS points and Major slots, so they cannot simply avoid tough schedules. Valve, however, has not set any daily match limits. As a result, the debate is likely to continue while the final PGL Singapore Major 2026 spots are decided.
